Question about KitchenAid Kitchen Ranges

KitchenAid Superba gas range/convection oven. Oven won't turn on.

For about 1 year, the oven has been slow to turn on . It would stay on low for an extended period (5 to 15 min) until a "poof or pop" sound and it turns on. Now, the oven won't turn on at all. The digital panel seems to work letting me choose the function I need, but the oven just won't turn on. Can you help?

From what I've read, the igniter is most often the problem and was with my KitchenAid Supra oven, Here are some details to help you do the actual repair by knowing where everything is located.
1. The oven has 2 igniters: one for the broiler (located at top inside of oven) and one the "overall" oven igniter (located underneath the heat shield on bottom of oven; remove 4 screws to get to it).
2. Do visual test to see if your broiler igniter works versus your oven igniter. It will glow orange if working. This is a good way to focus on the source of the problem (i.e., if no glow, then it may very well be the igniter).
3. Order new igniter. The site repairclinic.com shipped mine very fast.
4. To install: pull oven away from wall, unplug, and remove inside panel on back (not entire back panel but, rather, panel that is in the middle of the back). Here, you can access one of the two igniter wires. You can access the other wire by removing the storage shelf on the bottom of the oven. Snap the old ones off. Unscrew the igniter from inside the oven, Snake new wires through back.Screw new igniter in place. Put everything back in place and you are done!

You could use the igniter from broiler. GLowing igniter still may be foulty. After time of glowing the element is burne out and not enough electric curent is been deliver to electric velve to open gas for the burner.

This process of replacement worked. It was certainly easier than replacing one of the stovetop ignitors. The one trick is snaking the wires through the back. The wires do not go straight back, they have to also go up a couple inches. We took the old one, put the wires thru the back til they came out the front hole, then twisted the wires of the new with the wires of the old, then pulled it through the back. This was very effective. And yes, I have my oven back! Whew!

I have a question about that, my igniter glows orange but the light bar does not light and on top of that it then starts to smell like it is leaking gas, any solution to that problem?

Oven bake ignites usually have lifetime 5-7 years. If igniter glows but gas not came in - replace igniter. Same with broil igniter.

Looking for a part KitchenAid DBL Convetion oven (12 years old)

Are you talking about the oven pan at the bottom of the oven? If so, the part number may be 1059318 and costs about $50. You can find parts for your range at repairclinic.com. Just type in your model number in the search window. There is an extensive pictorial part index with price infomration. Unfortunately, this part did not have a photo with it.
