Reset cache means that it empties all temporary files in your phone like pages you have visited on the internet and passwords that cache when you check mail and such.
If you reset the cache which won't hurt the phone, you will have to re-enter names of pages you frequent and such.

What do you do when Alcatel one touch tablet is stuck on sprint yellow screen and won't do anything

I'm not familiar with that specific tablet, but all Android devices have a way to enter a recovery mode menu that allow you to clear the cache or do a full factory reset. First, try the 'clear cache' option. If that doesn't work, you'll have to do a full factory reset (and you'll lose all of your apps and data).

  • Turn off your tablet all the way.
  • Then press and hold Volume Up + Power button until you see the Recovery Mode menu.
  • From menu on your screen choose option "clear cache" or "delete cache" by using Volume buttons to scroll and Power button to confirm.
  • Try to restart your tablet. If it still doesn't work, then do the same thing again, but this time...
  • From menu on your screen choose option "wipe data/factory reset" by using Volume buttons to scroll and Power button to confirm.
  • After that select option "Yes -- delete all user data", and confirm that.
