My touch pad can't work and windows couldn't shutting down . please suggest us how to solve that problem regards. agus tiar

If the problem is that you can't shut down your PC because you can't use your touch pad to click shutdown, you could use the keyboard instead.

Click the windows key
Select the shutdown using arrow keys
select shutdown, you could use tab to switch wether restart or standby
then press Enter

easier way is, press alt+F4 button (it will lead you to shutdown option)
select the desired shut down option using tab button.
press enter.

I have a dell c521 desktop I bought it from a rental place I do not have a reboot disc I've called dell suport they were no help is there any keyboard configureations to get this rebooted

***Using the Start Menu
  • Press a Windows key (the ones with the Windows symbol on as shown right), this will open up the Start Menu.
  • Use the cursor keys (the ones with arrows on) to highlight 'Turn off Computer' and press Enter to select it
  • A dialog box will open. Use the cursor keys to to highlight 'Shutdown computer', 'Turn off' or whatever your version of Windows says, and press Enter again.

***Using the 'three finger salute'
Hold down Ctrl and Alt, and press Delete.
Windows 2000 and XP Home Edition users will be presented with a dialog box with buttons on:
  • · Use the cursor keys to select the 'Shut Down' button and use Enter to select it.
  • · Select 'Shut down' from the list using the cursor keys and press Enter one more time.

In other versions of Windows the Task Manager will open:
  • · Hold down Alt and press U to open the 'Shut Down' menu.
  • · Use the cursor keys to highlight 'Turn Off' and press Enter.

***Hit Alt F4 'till you can't any more
The final method of shutting down that I will explain here is to hold down the Alt key and press F4 repeatedly. This will close every application that is open on Windows and eventually will close Windows itself. You may be asked if you want to save files by some programs, if so use the cursor keys and Enter to get past these dialog boxes.

My laptop acer aspire5920 is not shutting down due to removal of my shutdown file from my laptop due to unknown reasons.

Hi dear,
Create Icons for Shutdown and Reboot If you find it annoying to access the Start Menu for shutting down or rebooting the computer, create a shutdown and reboot icon for the desktop.
Desktop Shutdown Icon Right click on the desktop
Click [New] [Shortcut] to open the Create Shortcut Wizard
Type [shutdown -s -t 00] without the brackets.
Click [Next] and type a descriptive name of your choosing for the shortcut
Click [Finish]
Add a bit of class to the shortcut by assigning it a custom icon. Right click the shortcut, click [Properties] and select the [Shortcut] tab. Click [Change Icon] and select from the icons that are displayed.
Desktop Reboot Icon Right click on the desktop
Click [New] [Shortcut] to open the Create Shortcut Wizard
Type [shutdown -r -t 00] without the brackets.
A Final Note: If you happen to be as fanatical as I am about having nothing on the desktop, drag the new icons into the Quick Launch area of the Taskbar.

then use it.

if not resolve it

then use following step ;-

click on start then go to RUN and type SFC /SCANNOW
press enter
this command recover all windows lost files, if it will ask windows CD then enter the windows disk.

bye take care
good luck

Problem on pc

Sounds like this is an issue with Microsoft Communicator. I would run the hotfix for Microsoft Office Comminicator. It s not a big one and should not take too long. The hot fix can be found at:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=A8C26743-5A77-4947-AAD4-6A6B8EF84F9C&displaylang=en

There are detailed instructions on how to laod the fix but if you have ever done an MS hotfix it is pretty standard.
