Your monitor does what is called "mode switching" whenever the video input changes frequencies due to graphics, You have likely noticed it when starting or ending video games, when you are in dos, there are different frequencies depending on the ammount of text graphics or color displayed, I believe that the clicking you hear is your monitor seeking the best settings for the graphics/text being displayed.

It is possable that trying a different video card may remedy the issue, maybe your monitor just conflicts with your card, As I said, I apologise for not being more help.

Monitor Flicker for awhile and then settles down

The problem is in the power supply/inverter board, this is usually caused by bad capacitors that in most cases have slight bulge at the top causing it to flicker and eventually shutdown. The only option is have them replaced.

My LG 500G 15 inch CRT monitor is flicking, I remove all the magnetic thing about 2 feet but it also flicking at 1024X768 (60htz). Please give the hardware repairing techneque to stop flicking from...

Please ensure if the flickering is not coming from the PC. In some cases a fault in the display drivers section of the main board will cause flickering.
If you meant the flicking to be related to lower frequency of the vertical or an interference from the mains line then try and see if there are errors in the SMPS of the monitor. If there is leak of the mains storage/tank capacitor , it is possible to see some flickering.
Select from the menu the vertical frequency and see if there is any change on alteration.

Screen flickers with lines but when i move the screen it stops

A nearby device can cause stray magnetic fields that will cause the display to be affected. A problem inside the monitor will cause the display to have problems. If somebody turns on their monitor nearby, the monitor's degaussing when it starts up will cause your monitor to dance wildly for a moment or two.

keep electronics away from your computer. Mobie phones etc. can distort the image shown on the screen for periods of time, usually when a text or call is coming through.

Sometimes if the refresh rate isnt set high enough you will see a noticeable flicker on the screen .. to change the monitor refresh rate .. you can right click on the desktop and then left click on properties .. click on the setting tab then click on the advanced tab then click on the monitor tab ..look in the drop down menu where it says 60 hertz and see if the refresh rate can be changed .. if it cant .. uncheck hide modes the monitor cant see and then click on the drop down menu .. pick a refresh rate .. 75 hertz is what i use and it should stop the flicker

Mine shut down during my normal working day. Same thing, turn it off and on again - screen flashes up briefly then flicks off again.
Called Samsung and they are replacing it with a refurbished screen under warranty.

Flickers continuously

From what I have heard the isn't a great monitor and most say stay away. Sorry for the advice. There is one thing I would try, to increase the Hertz from 60 to at least is how: right click in an open area on your desktop...a box opens...->PROPERTIES->SETTINGS TAB->ADVANCE->MONITOR TAB-MONITOR SETTINGS there you'll see a drop down arrow->click on it a select 70HERTz ->APPLY-> OK...just for good measure, reboot...that may help..if not try the link below for more help Good luck...
