Question about Rinnai RHFE-1004FA 38,400 BTU Energy Saver Ductless Heater - Natural Gas
Our heater has come up with E:05 which says the the burner is extinguished, how do we re light the burner??
This is a New Zealand model. There is no pilot to relight, the unit will cycle again when you stop and restart the unit. You will need to find out why you are getting this code. I would check out the venting system for blockage. Make sure you are getting gas. You may want to take off the front panel and look into two small rectangular holes covered by small metal plates to see if, in fact the flame is starting then stopping. I have seen many of these with spider webs inside the gas train and burners not allowing the heater to start.
If you can get to the backside of the heater, you will see a rubber hose about 1" (US) in diameter. Remove it from the vent and see if the unit ignites. If it does, this indicates blockage in the outer vent passage.
If not, you may need to contact a technician to investigate your issue.
