Freon leak, How new is it. If you still have a warranty take it back and have them replace it. If it is not under warranty you can try a few tricks. Clean the outside coils with a strong blast of water with the unit off and make sure the filter is cleaned

My air conditioner runs but it is not blowing cold air anymore. it is a Friedrich room air conditioner QStar. Help

1. check the filter and clean it while your at it. 2. check to see if it iced up and if so thaw it out and set the temp a bit higher. close all rooms not in use. my guess is it is iced up because of a dirty filter.

My air conditioner line is freezing and no air is coming out of the vents

Shut it down for a few hours and let it De-ice the evap coil is iced up/ check your filters and change them.. Oh to speed things up a bit. Just shut the cooling off and leave the fan on that will speed it up. You should see ice or condensate on the line. But set your stat to 74 and close doors to rooms not in use..

12000 btu air conditioner is brand new but ices up when turned on. Presently it is used in an attic room that is 15x15 sq.ft. Any suggestions/solutions?

thins that can cause an a/c to ice up
1 something blocking the return air to the system (dirty filter, something in front of the unit blocking the incoming air )
2 defective thermostat keeps the unit running past the desire temperature system does not cycle off and ice begins to form.
3 low refrigerant charge this causes the unit to run constantly and the room never cools off ice also begins to form.
4 defective blower fan this is will prevent the air from circulating pas coil and ice will form.
I HOPE YOUR SOLUTION IS SIMPLE.. IF THE UNIT IS NEW IT SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY GET IT REPLACED THERE IS NO POINT IN GETTING IT REPAIRED IF YOU JUST PURCHASE IT.

BEST OF LUCK

Continuing running, Ice on outside unit

Every unit has to take rest to re boost. That's why thermostat for heat or cold fixed, If your unit is not cutting off @ setting temp check room sensor. If defective replace it.
If unit continuously running but no cool inside room means gas leak. Find leak and do gas charging.

Water coming into residence, front of ac icing up and doesn't appear to be blowing cold air..

Hi,
The icing up can come from a dirty air filter or from the unit leaking freon and being low on charge...
The other way to freeze it is to try and make the room too cold...
check the filter... don't try to get the room colder then say 70 and if it still freezes then you have a problem...

Ice on the evaporator

Make sure the coils are not dirty,if they are not dirty, add freon to the system, not much, feel the evaporator, when the evaporator is cool all over, and the condenser is warm all over, there is enough freon, add very little at a time, this system does not hold much freon,if this was helpful,at all, please rate, thank you.

Evervarator make ice up

Temp setting too low for high humidity. Turn up temp. this allows the unit to stop cooling intermitently so the ice doesn't build up unless it is runs constantly. Good luck

Instead of cooling the room, the back of the AC forms ice

Change the filter. It doesn't have the proper air flow across the coil. Hope this helps. Good luck

Ac ices over

First you need to make sure the filter is clean to allow good air flow through the evaporator. If the filter is clean make sure the evaporator is not plugged up with dust and lint. If all that is ok your problem is the a/c BTU's is to big for the size room you have the a/c in and it is getting the room too cold. If that happens the evaporator will ice up and will not cool the room.
