Question about Altec Lansing Multimedia Computer Speakers
I have an acer aspire laptop, the other day i accedentally unintalled my realtek audio device. i have trried going to computer management under the controle pannel and trying to reinstall the device but when i try to the wizard cannton find any software to install. i do not have a disk drive so i cannot install anything through that, i need help i have worked for about 3-4 days on this and i dont need to download usless ****, i need an audio device
You uninstalled the realtek drivers not the device, so no matter how many times you try to reinstall it via the device manager it will not work because your system needs driver software that will work with it. Uninstall the audio device via device manager, then reboot and install the appropriate realtek driver for your laptop from acers support/driver website. If you tell me the model in a comment I can give you the direct link.
I think its just a driver issue and that if you download the acer / aspire notebook realtek driver for your laptop your sound will start working 100%. If you think its an actual hardware issue than the only way to resolve it is by contacting acer directly.

Download driver and software updates directly from Acer's website (see Resources). Save the files to a folder, and then run the setup program to install the software.
Download and install a new software driver for your laptop's on-board audio controller. Many audio controllers in Acer Aspire laptops use the AC97 Audio Codec driver. Go to the Realtek website and click on the "Downloads" tab to see available software (see Resources).
Adjust the sound using the Master Volume setting. Right-click on the audio icon on the toolbar and select "Open Volume Control." Use the Master Volume and Wave input settings to adjust the volume of the audio that is being heard.
Use a software program such as the Realtek Sound Effect Manager to control and adjust the laptop's audio settings. There should be an icon on the desktop or toolbar, but you can also find the program in the Control Panel as well. The program contains an equalizer with presets to choose from as well as mixer and audio I/O options.
