i have an acer aspire laptop, the other day i accedentally unintalled my realtek audio device. i have trried going to computer management under the controle pannel and trying to reinstall the device but when i try to the wizard cannton find any software to install. i do not have a disk drive so i cannot install anything through that, i need help i have worked for about 3-4 days on this and i dont need to download usless ****, i need an audio device

You uninstalled the realtek drivers not the device, so no matter how many times you try to reinstall it via the device manager it will not work because your system needs driver software that will work with it. Uninstall the audio device via device manager, then reboot and install the appropriate realtek driver for your laptop from acers support/driver website. I think its just a driver issue and that if you download the acer / aspire notebook realtek driver for your laptop your sound will start working 100%. If you think its an actual hardware issue than the only way to resolve it is by contacting acer directly.

I need basic instruction on how to install Altec Lancing Multimedia system into Computer. I purchased a used system Windows XP it included all the cables and components,however everything came loose in one box. I have the Altec Lancing Multimedia powered subwoofer and two small speakers. This system had been great, it's from a purchase (Dell) of a computer. Problem: when first turned on it works fine. Some time later, I don't have any sound. I would love to know if there is a thermal problem some where or what. I hate to throw it away. The fuse in the rear is good. Anyone know what I can check to see if it can be fixed?
