3 year old dryer won't dry. It will beep 3 times, but won't turn on. Tried disconnecting it, cleaned the filters (back and front) check the electrical voltages - everything seems OK.

Probably the thermistor is bad. located on the blower housing in front of the motor nest to the thermostat. if you tilt the console back(remove the screws at either side, either visible or under snap off console ends) there is a tech sheet wiring diagram to trouble shoot the circut. unplug it first...

Kenmore electric dryer model 88042 runs but stops short beeping

Based on symptom and details, the control has detected a component failure. Since your model does not have digital display window in order to display a fault code, it will flash the four indicator lights of

Drying, Cool Down, Wrinkle Rid (Press Saver), and Clean Lint Filter will flash the number of times for the first digit of the code and the START indicator light will flash the number of times for the second digit.

Take separate counts of each indicator light, then repeat to confirm in order to be accurate in identifying the proper error code. The code is obtained by counting the number of times the lights flash. Example E24: The four indicator lights would flash twice indicating the 2 and the START indicator light will flash four times indicating the 4. The four indicator lights and the START indicator light

start flashing at the same time. The control will pause for 2 seconds, then repeat the code.

The failure is likely because of a faulty thermistor or because the heater is not working. It could have a broken heating element or a burnt wire connection at the control board. I would begin by accessing the thermistor and disconnecting it. The thermistor can be tested with an Ohm meter. The thermistor should measure approximately 50,000/5K Ohms at room temperature.

The heating element is located behind the drum and it can be disconnected and tested for continuity with an Ohm meter.

NOTE: Disconnect the dryer from the power supply before servicing.

How do I stop my kenmore dryer, model 970-c87172, from beeping? Drying, cool down, wrinkle rid and clean lint filter lights flash 3 times. Start light doesn't flash at all. It does this even

Hi Brenda

First off It seems that you model is not correct. Kenmore model numbers start with 3 number followed by a . and then some more numbers. Most Kenmore laundry numbers start with 110.xxxxxxxx. The number you have looks like a serial number which is no help.

Bosch dryer beeps

Two Beeps on my Bosch WTE84100au Condensing Dryer means a thermal overload but also means one of the thermal sensors is faulty .... as if it is always on.
Open the door, pull out the lint catcher and clean around the silver probe (it's like a shiny 1/8" nail sticking into the cavity below the lint catcher). If it still doesn't work (and still 2 beeps), just flick it lightly a couple of times. If it still doesn't work, flick again from the other direction.

Kenmore model 84152/94152, 8 years old, started out with3 beeps over and over while running just fine otherwise. Now, 12 hours later, stupid thing started, while not running as in not in use, beeping once...

that isn't a model number and kenmore doesn't make anything so you have to send the full model number off of the dryer, open the door look around the opening where you put the clothes in and send the model number,if it's beeping and starting on it's own it sounds like you have a computer board problem with it but can't help you without the model number.

I would replace parts. It still is cheaper than a new unit. So get the new control panel and do it yourself and save money. The average life of a dyer is dependant only on when the owner gives up. I just serviced on last week that was 25 years old.
