You have a bad heating element and or a bad high limit switch. Check them for continuity with a volt meter. No continuity, replace the part.

Dryer won't dry clothes

First check and see if your heating element is working by holding down the dryer door switch and turning on the dryer too see if you get a glowing from the rear inside of the drum. If it does glow then check to see if you have a kink in your dryer line or check to see if you have a clogged vent outside the vent to the dryer. Also you may want to try resetting your power to the dryer by unplugging the dryer and turning off and then backb on the breaker to the dryer then plug the dryer back in and see if that works.

When resetting the breaker, you have to forcefully move to the off position to catch a tripped breaker. Push fairly hard to the off position and try again.

My dryer doesn't dry. I checked all of the vents and they not clogged. I checked the vent coming out of the dryer itself and their is hardly any air coming out What should I do?

Try resetting the double pole breaker. Sometimes on a 2 pole circuit breaker one breaker will trip allowing the dryer to run but will not produce necessary heat to dry clothes in a timely manner.

Dryer turns on but does not get hot or even warm for that matter

Many times one pole of a double pole breaker may trip allowing the dryer to operate but with no heat. Go to the electric panel and reset the circuit breaker for the dryer. Also check to insure there is air flow at the vent a clogged vent willl prevent clothes from drying

I have a kenmore dryer 80 series it only makes a lite sound when I push the start button. I won't come on. The power is good.

The Kenmore 80 Series of dryers are consumer grade dryers for home use. As with most home appliances, the Kenmore 80 series dryers will occasionally not work as intended. If a problem occurs with your dryer, however, you do not necessarily need it serviced by a technician. You can attempt to troubleshoot and fix any problems with your dryer before contacting a technician.

  1. Kenmore 80 Series dryers may not run for several reasons. First, make sure that the power cord is plugged into a working power outlet. You may need to plug a different device into the outlet to check that it is receiving power. If the second device does not run on the power outlet, you may have blown a fuse or tripped a circuit breaker. Check your fuse box or circuit breaker box and make the change as needed.
Next, make sure that the dryer door is fully shut. The dryer will not run with the door ajar.
Finally, check that the "Start" button was fully pressed and that a cycle was chosen on the machine. If you do not choose a cycle for the dryer, it will not run.
  2. If your Kenmore 80 Series dryer does not heat up during use, check that a heat cycle has been chosen for the load. There are several different dryer cycles you can choose, some of which do not use heat. Make sure that you have chosen a heated cycle.
As above, check that you have not blown a fuse or tripped a circuit breaker. The dryer may use more than one fuse or breaker: one is used to power the drum, and the other for the heating element. Make sure that both fuses or breakers are in working order.
  3. There may be times when Kenmore Series 80 dryers do not fully dry your clothes. When this occurs, check the lint screen and clear out any lint. The air may not flow as well if the lint screen is clogged.
Next, check to see if the exhaust vent is clogged. Lint and other particles may clog the exhaust vent over time, restricting air flow and making it more difficult to dry your clothes. To check the vent, run the dryer and hold your hand under the vent. If you do not feel any air flow, clean or replace the vent.
If you used cold water to rinse the clothes it may take longer than normal to dry. The same is true if the load of laundry is very wet or is filled with items that are very absorbent.
Finally, check the load size. The more clothes in the load the longer it will take to dry. If you want to reduce drying time, separate the clothes into piles of light and heavy items and dry them separately.
  4. please comment on these solution by saying how helpful.

No heat will come from the dryer

Check the dryer breaker pair in the house electrical box. Push off, then on. If the breakers trip immediately, then you have a direct short circuit in the dryer, usually the heating element which involves removing the drum to get at the element(s). If the breakers hold, then try the dryer. If you get heat--ok. If drum turns, but no heat--check with a voltmeter across the two slanted slots in the power socket. You should read ~220 volts AC. If near zero, then one of the breakers is probably bad. Get an electrician to replace the breaker pair.

LG Gas Stacking Dryer

The check filter light comes on every load to remind you to clean the lint filter. Cooling only happens when that light is flashing not when it's on solid. If this is a gas dryer check the exhaust hose and vent on the outside of the house. If it is blocked it will not let the unit get to the correct temp due to cycling.
