Question about Toshiba Tecra M6-EZ6611 Notebook

Fn+F8 hotkey dose not work but the remain FX go fine

I cannot get the wireless hotkey (Fn+F8) working on Tecra M6 EZ-6611. It worked before, but after I reinstalled the system and the drivers, it does not work any more. All other Fn+FX combinations work fine. If the wirelles switch (on the right side of the notebook) is turned off and Fn+F8 is pressed, the system displays the following message: "Wireless communication is disabled. Please turn on the wireless communication switch." If the wireless switch is turned on and Fn+F8 is pressed, nothing happens (while before I was able to turn bluetooth and wireless card on and off).

Another Alternative is to check your BIOS to see whether or not your Wireless is turned on, if it is not pressent in your BIOS then update your BIOS Driver on the Internet to ver 1.4, Double check your version Compatabillity. Next if the adapter driver is installed, follow the following intructions: start -> settings -> control panel -> system -> hardware -> device manager -> now look for the wireless adapter, see if it is operational or marked with an error -> if it is marked check that it is configured for automatic, and also the resources. Set the configuration manually if so. restart the system.

1) Resource conflict = change resource settings
2) No adapter = check if the adapter is enabled (Y) then see if there is any conflicts (y) correct the settings e.g. resources and see if windows shows that the device is enabled (N) try to enable this device. If (N) then goto BIOS settings to correct it.

Hope this helps

Fn not working

Hi Dimitar,
We often hear users telling us that they not able to use Fn keys such as the fn for wireless, sleep, etc.
In fact, you need to install power management software and drivers whereby it has hotkey driver included in it. Hotkey driver is the key to make sure the Fn keys work.

P.S. This apply to only Lenovo Essential and Idea machines. Exclude Think machines.

Restore FN + F8 key to reactivate Wi-Fi on Toshiba Satellite L500

Hi,
My laptop didnt enable the wifi with the fn+f8 key.
I even reset the cmos and nothing.
Then I went to toshiba drivers website and after installing the "thku" "toshiba hotkey utility" the fn+f8 start working and enable/disable the wifi. It now shows a popup windows when I press the fn+f8 key.

Before the wifi led was always off. Windows detected the wifi device but nothing on the wifi available list.
Now the led is always on, starts orange when I turn on the pc and blue when connected.

Fn + F8 - Increase brightness
Fn + F9 - Play / pause media

How do i make my screen brighter on presario v2000

Decrease Brightness (fn+f7) The fn+f7 hotkey decreases the brightness of the notebook screen. The longer you hold down the fn+f7 hotkey, the more the screen dims. Decreasing screen brightness conserves power. » To increase screen brightness, press the fn+f8 hotkey.
