Error with operating system

unplug everything. take out Your hard drive. put Your hard drive back in plug everything back in and try again. That is what is called a hard boot. If that doesn't work then You hard drive is junk. You will need a new one. Hope that helps.

If you are unable to get any repair utilities to work, you may be able to retrieve files that you want to save from your hard disk by using a live Linux system. See http://www.iso.linuxquestions.org there are many distributions available, one of the best for this is Knoppix. Another good one is Sabayon. They will run live from the CD or DVD, and allow you to browse the hard drive and copy files to USB removable media provided the drive is readable at all.

insert a bootable disc of ur operating system n use REPAIR option.......
this will repair ur os without harming your personal data
if you wish you can also format it and reinstall ur os but this will install a clean copy deleating ur previous settings and data of ur main drive

Ok if it have a restore disk better to use it. The sign means it cannot see a operating system to load. It maybe the hard drive is out or the files is corrupted.

And also check your cdrom drive, sdcard reader slot or usb drive for pen drive. Maybe a cd disk is inserted, memory card, or usb flash drive is connected.

Ok to be sure if it is not the hard drive goto bios menu check if the harddrive is detected, If detected then maybe its files is corrupted.
You can choose for the best first, repair or restore disk or reformat and install. Depends on the features of your laptop.
