Question about Whirlpool GHW9400 Duet Washer

No Power at Control Panel

My Whirlpool Duet WFW9400SW00 will not 'power up'. When the unit is unplugged and plugged back in, there is only a quiet 'click' and no power at the control panel. The unit is only a year and a half old and has already been through the whole F20 problem and mixing valve repair, after several months of not working!

Thanks.  How exactly do I check the fuses?

  • mtjones May 24, 2009

The literature that came with the unit does not provide any details. There is a beige plastic 'box', secured by two screws and four plastic clips at the top rear of the unit, where the incoming power enters and the end of the 'whip' to the control panel exits (with two pink wires).

Is there a fuse in that unit?

    Thanks,
    Mark

There is no reference to fuses in the literature with the machine.  The power cord enters the beige 'box' noted in my last message.  There is no obvious fuse there.

  • mtjones May 28, 2009

There are no fuses at the back of the unit.  Could there be a fuse in the MCU/CCU?

  • mtjones May 28, 2009

Also, could it have anything to do with the Interference Filter, which IS at the point that the power enters and unit and the only thing before the MCU?

Sounds like a fuse issue. check the fuses.

should be in the back of the machine where the power cord is. If you have a owners manual check it.

It could be. Contact whirlpool to find out where the fuses are. they should know. The Interference Filter could be bad.

Hard Reset - In some cases the control can be non-functioning or may not accept activation from the control panel. To clear and restart the control follow the these steps:

* Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
* Reconnect the unit to the power source by turning the breaker back on or plugging the unit back into the wall outlet.
* Press the Pause/Cancel/Stop button twice to clear the "PF" in the display.
* Start a short cycle to check the operation of the machine by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the machine starts.

Whirlpool Duet WFW9400SW00 - How do I remove the control panel?

The ccu isnt behind the panel. The ccu is under the top of the washer. Who will be repairing this? This is a non- reparable part.

Hi - I have a whirlpool duet washer with a flashing F 07 error. What is it?

F07 - Motor Control Unit (MCU) Error - Disconnect power and unplug unit. Check wire harness connections between drive motor and Motor Control Unit (MCU), and between MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU). Reconnect power and plug unit in.
Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor, and check drive motor for powered rotations. Replace failed component.

Note: If this failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door will be unlocked after three minutes.
