Eror Code 6B00

Thank you for the suggestions but the one button this printer does not have is a resume button. I tried using the stop/reset button but that did not work. Any other suggestions are most welcome. To summarize the issue my cat knocked some srcrews into my Canon IP6700D and now I cannot get rid of error code 6B00. Thanks, Pete

6B00 is a paper feed error, unplugging won't help, too bad you get such bad advice from amateurs. You need to look down where the paper goes with a flashlight and small mirror, chances are that one of those screws is stopping the feed or transport rollers from turning. Sometimes lifting the front of the printer and tapping the side will free up whatever has fallen in, hopefully if it moves you can use a magnet to retrieve it.

Hi there,

  • Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
  • Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
  • restart the computer
  • try to download drivers from the website
  • after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
  • then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.
Hope this help. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.

8. Your printer should respond as normal..

5100 is a Carriage Home Position Error. if the above reset procedure dint help....
try cleaning the plastic strip that runs the length of the carriage, it may be contaminated.
Use alcohol and a swab.
check the timing strip for contamination(plastic strip about 1/4" in width)
The unit is not homing, check for obstructions.
if even after cleaning the strip ur experiencing the problem then u can be rest assured that its time to call canon...
thank you for using Fixya...
have a nice day
Please rate this solution.

Error code 6B00

6B00 is a paper feed position error, the paper feed is not returning to the home position, or the encoder wheel was damaged. You can try to manually turn that large roller, and then power up again, but if it doesn't help you'll need a shop repair.
