Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

Our GE unit pfs22sisbss over under stainless steel refrigerator is not cooling...in both areas. This happened once before and we believed it could have been from the kids leaving the door open. We woke up (5am) to find the fridge around 70 degrees and the freezer is thawing the ice. We have not had a working digital display since we have owned the damn thing, since Home Depot would not come out and warranty it.

Try switch off the unit and leave it for a day with the doors open, that will defrost the unit fully and switch it on again. Remember not to open the door for at least 12 hrs. to let the unit time to cool down.

It may be as simple as a blown lamp bulb.
Check item #624 on the diagram at this link. You can also order your part from them.

Temp light does not light up and temp does not get cold. inside door latch is broken model #pfs22sisbss

The main control board could solve the display problem . May also solve the cooling problem , but would need to know , if frost build up on back wall inside freezer , are both fans working (freezer and compressor cooling fan) , is the compressor running ,are the coils clean in back of refrig ? Unsure about a "door latch" . The freezer door ,rides on glides , and the magnetic gasket should hold it closed .

Water marks on stainless profiles

I have used Bon Ami or Bar tenders Stainless steel cleaner (found in the section of Ajax or Comet Cleaner). Put some of the powder on soft cloth, wet it a little & scrub mark lightly; use clean rag w/water to clean off powder. Then use stainless steal spray cleaner (like the one found at Bath & Beyond) and rub in with soft cloth. I have found that the pull-out stainless steel cleaner wipes are too wet & just smear. Good luck

Replacement Door Panel for GE Profile Dishwasher

Are you trying to replace the microwave door or the GE dishwasher. Either way, www.applianceart.com (under the stainless steel section) has this roll of stainless material that you apply to your appliances. I saw it on the "Today Show." Its basically faux stainless. We put it on our refrigerator and it looks and even feels like real stainless steel. Its really cool. I think its called stainless foil or something like that. Also if you're looking for a stainless panel for your dishwasher they sell actual stianless panels there too.

I have a GE Profile Stainless Steel refrigerator; the Model number is PFS22SISBSS. The ice maker stopped working.

The refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser (if equipped). The valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
Another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees. In addition, check the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking more water from entering. The water does not go to the ice-maker or thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.
