The loading mechanism on my PS 3 will not work. I can put the disc in but the loading mech will not pull the game in like its supposed too. The only time it will load is when you put the disc in when the system is switched of then when you switch it on it will load the disc and work fine. But to get another game in I have to eject, switch off load then switch on which is a right pain in the arse. Does anybody have any solutions. Oh I also removed 4 discs from it the other day as the youngest thought it was hungry but it still worked after that.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

There are two reasons for this fault. The fist one is with disc loading problem. If the disc do not load properly into the drive mechanism, or if the disc does not spins inside it. The second one is with it laser pickup unit. the fist one said above is a mechanical fault, and the second is component failure. To repair both of them, you have to take out the DVD loading mechanism out from the player. it will be best to contact any service technician.

How to jailbreak PS3(PlayStation 3)? chips available at www.ndsireland.webs.com
Follow the complete step by step guide posted below to jailbreak your PlayStation 3 to enable you to create backups of original discs. Pre-requisites are as follows: * Any (FAT or SLIM) PlayStation 3 Console running firmware 3.41 or above. * PS Jailbreak USB Modchip. * An external USB drive formatted to FAT32 with the "Backup Manager" file on it which you can download from here. * Original disc of any PS3 game which you want to backup. Step 1: Power off your console and make sure that there isn't any disc in the Blu-ray drive. For the SLIM Model: Remove the power chord before plugging in the USB. For the FAT model: Turn off the power switch found at the backside of the console.
Step 2: Now insert the USB based PS Jailbreak Modchip to any USB port of your choice on the console. Once the USB is in place, Power ON the console and immediately press the "Eject" button. There should now be two LEDs turned-on on the USB as the console is loading. If the LED light on the USB turns green, you are good to go as the PS Jailbreak has been successfully loaded. If the LED turns red, then it means that the PS Jailbreak Modchip didn't load successfully. This usually happens when the Power and Eject button sequence wasn't performed properly. Start from Step 1 again if you end up having the red light. Step 3: Once the console has finished booting up with the PS Jailbreak Modchip, plug-in the external USB storage device which has the "Backup Manager" setup to the console's USB port. Step 4: Now navigate to the "Game Menu" and select the option "Install Package Files" and then select "manager.pkg" file. This will basically install the "Backup Manager" application that you download earlier to your hard drive. Step 5: When the "manager.pkg" file is done loading, scroll all the way down in the "Game Menu" and there you should see a new application called "Backup Manager", run it. Step 6: Now we're in the Backup Manager app. Insert the game in the console's optical drive which you want to backup. Press "O" and you will be asked where to make the backup, on the internal HDD or the external storage source connected via USB. This process is further elaborated by the following screenshots. Step 7: In order to play a game via the backup you just made, insert any original game disc into your console (To emulate the loading process), run "Backup Manager" in the "Game Menu". Press "X" to play the selected backup game. Step 8: Now you will be taken back to the main menu. In the "Game Menu" you will see the game which you have backed up. Now you can select the game, and run it without having the disc in the console's drive. Oh and you must make sure that the PS Jailbreak USB Modchip is connected to your console at all the times when you are playing the games via backups. this problem is common. PS1 is a great machine, but the laser disc lens after serving us for years at one point it stops reading discs. Usually this problem doesn't happen suddenly, but there is a time period in between where sometimes it loads games and sometimes not. If you've noticed this symptom, then you may try to bring few more life to the PS.
- Switch off your PS and open the round cover, locate where the laser lens is. Wet a cotton bud with one or two drops of a common glass cleaner. Clean very gently the lens for like ten seconds with circular movements, wait one minute so it'll get dry. Now put your game in and see if it has worked. You may try more than one disc if the first doesn't load, because some games are easier to load.
- If this won't work, you may try to put your PS standing in vertical. Put it on one of its side, maybe better standing on a wall or on the side of the tv. It may sound weird, but sometimes it has worked for me. If one side wont work, just try also the other one.
- If none of the above will work, i may suggest you to get a new one, on ebay you can find still many PS for few bucks.
Hope it'll help,
you have to push the ps button on the controller again after the system loads the video game, for some reason (i assume compatability issues) the system breaks connection with the controller when it loads the ps2 discs. If this doesnt help get back with me
It could be that the lens inside the playstation is dirty from dust. Try using a Cd cleaning disc that you can buy down at your local electronic store. If its not the lens then it could be the disc your playing. Check to make sure it doesnt contain dust or marks. If the disc contains scratches it could make it hard for the len to read the disc correctly.
You're going to have to switch off the unit and turn it back on to make it stop. the disk is either badly damaged or the infra red in the remote isn't responding to the dvd player vice versa. hope i managed to help. goodluck. PS also clean the lens of the player as dust causes disk loading probs aswell
you can transfear you information to a memory stick, or just taing off the hd and conect it to your computer to make a backup of your information, then you may restore your ps3 hd to see if that works, and if it doesnt, contact me!
