You could try connecting the SATA cable between the Hard Drive and the MoBo via the supplied female SATA ports and power from a extra four pin connector from the power supply.

This motherboard does not support your new Hard Drive. SATA is a connection type required for your hard drive. Your motherboard supports IDE connector. You probably can get a pci card that allows you to attach the hard drive.

Hi, cannot find the right set of drivers for the mobo A7N8X Deluxe. It does not recognise my SATA drive, even I've installed corresponding drivers After pressing the F6 key and installing the SCSI Drivers...

Connect your SATA on the first SATA slot to make it as the Master. Or maybe the BIOS settings is set only to recognize IDE device. If this is the case, try going to BIOS settings then Peripheral Devices, look for the menu Hard Drive and replace the IDE into SATA.

I have a 320 as my primary and i want 2 ad a 500 sata wd how do i set the pin jumper for secondary on my new one and the factory 320 has no jumper at all thanks

The SATA Drives do not need jumpers to set primary and secondary drive positions. Each sata drive gets it's own connection to the motherboard. Check you motherboard diagram, and make sure the 320GB drive is plugged into the 1st sata controler, and that the 500GB drive is connected to the 2nd.

Sata concetion

SATA HDD's do not have master/slave/cs jumpers like IDE drives do because only 1 cable is connected to each drive, so you have to plug whichever HDD you want to be primary into the SATA0 port (or SATA1 if there is no SATA0) on the motherboard.

Also make sure you have your masterboot recrod installed on the drive you use to boot.

K8V-MX motherboard+HDD size limit

yes the mother board supports SATA However if you connect large Disks to the SATA connectors they are recognized correctly with full size. So leave your 500g and less HDs on the IDE and the big ones on the SATA. you can check this link for the manual for more information ftp://ftp.chiligreen.com/Desktop/Manuals/manual_a_k8v-mx.pdf hope this helps .thanks and Godbless pls appreciate by rating as fixyaa
