    Geekman,

Negative to all suggestions. Am trying Fougzki's now. Thanks guys

This doesn't seem to help. I had to load the new bios to my FAT formatted USB on my other computer. My Name was E:/hpv125w.

I had the Flashit.exe and the renamed ZG5lA32.FD there. I moved the USB to the AA1 and followed the directions exactly but nothing happend. I do hear the machind but no reboot. I have repeated this per instruction. What did I mess up?

    Thanks Michelle

Check also your memory card. If you already check it with external monitor if it does not help. Reseat or clean its edge connector with a soft eraser. Do this when unit is off and battery is disconnected and no any other power source is connnected to it.

    And leave a message

Can you hear the hard disk spinning?
Is there a very dim image on the screen when you view it at a sharp angle?
Connect an external monitor to the laptop, power up the monitor first and then the laptop, do you see the normal Windows image on the external monitor?
Get back to me with what you see and any error messages.

Acer Aspire One BIOS Recovery The AA1 has a built-in BIOS recovery routine, making it possible to flash the BIOS even if the system doesn't boot anymore. It's only meant for emergencies and may void your warranty, so use at your own risk.

Follow every step carefully!

First format an USB stick with FAT.

Download the latest BIOS, and put both FLASHIT.EXE and the BIOS file in the root directory of the stick. Rename the BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD, that's important. Do not remove the USB stick.

Turn the AA1 off, make sure both battery and AC adapter are connected. Press Fn+Esc, keep it pressed and press the power button to turn the AA1 on. Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds, the power button will be blinking. Press the power button once. The AA1 will now initiate the BIOS flash, do not interrupt it under any circumstances. After a while the power button will stop blinking, and the AA1 will reboot shortly after. Wait patiently.

The BIOS has been flashed and all settings reset to default.

If for some reason you made a mistake during the procedure and it doesn't reboot by itself wait 5 minutes before turning it off, just to be safe that it isn't still flashing the BIOS.

Download WIN98BOOT.ZIP and HPUSBFORMATTER from the internet normal bootable like a diskette won't work with a usb stick
I had mine 2 months it's a common problem with the notebook.
The onely thing that you have to do is download these programs with someone with a internet connection.

Good luck

Did you use the HPUSBFORMATTER to make the stick bootable. I used a 2gb stick and put it in the usb port next to the headphone connection.
Unzip the win98boot.zip and put the files on the usb stick.

Turn the AA1 off, make sure both battery and AC adapter are connected.
Press Fn+Esc, keep it pressed and press the power button to turn the
AA1 on. Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds, the power button will be
blinking. Press the power button once. The AA1 will now initiate the
BIOS flash, do not interrupt it under any circumstances. After a while
the power button will stop blinking, and the AA1 will reboot shortly
    after. Wait patiently!!!

Keep trying this is the only solution

When you create a bootable usb stick with hp usb disk storage format tool click on ''create a Dos startup disk'' and ''Using Dos system files located at'' click on the button with the dots and search for the unzipped WIN98BOOT.zip files and then click on start when ready put the files flashit.exe and the bios files on the USB stick

In the beginning it looks like nothing happened.

    Good Luck again

Hook a spare monitor to the video output usually on the back, if okay! the inverter board just below the screen is most likely the problem, or the backlight behind the display. But if both show the same issue it is the video graphics card normally built into the motherboard.

I have the Aspire 5810TZ-4761 laptop. Black Screen Won't boot up

Does the dvd drive have a little hole that you can push a paperclip or some other thin itam like a needle in.
This is used to eject the drive manually.
you could also try removing and re fitting the dvd drive, this is usually held in with just 1 screw
