My Toshiba 57H84 has stopped picking up my PS3 through HDMI

I have had my PS3 connected through my Toshiba 57 inch projection tv through the HDMI output for a long time and for some reason or another it stopped picking up the signal. I have tried different HDMI cables and nothing. I have tried the PS3 on my friends hdtv and it works so its not my PS3. I have tried using the red white and yellow cables that came with my PS3 to restore it HD status through the display option on the PS3 but no luck, after 30 seconds it goes back to the 420p output. I have turned off the tv and ps3 and disconnected the HDMI cable and then turned on the tv and then the ps3 and then connected the HDMI cable and nothing. I have held down the power button to reset the display settings but still nothing. Anything else I can try or anyone know what the problem is?

My toshiba 57 inch rear projection tv every once in awhile makes a loud pop similar to a spark noise and the screen either goes black or flickers. do you have any suggestions what is causing this??

THis could be one of the CRTs (Color Tubes) is bad or the high voltage is leaking somewhere.
Toshiba projection TVs have history of yoke problems.
My guess is one of the CRTs is arcing inside. This TV has 3 CRTs red, green and blue. Replacing a CRT is not easy or cheap to buy if you can find it. If you like this try calling a TV technician to track down the high voltage arcing. DO NOT TRY TO DO THIS BY YOURSELF.

Best of luck my friend.

I'm having a similar problem! I've taken it apart and see a spark around the green (middle) bulb. Does this mean the bulb is blown and needs to be replaced?
