Question about Samsung SP-R4232 42 in. Plasma HDTV
I was watcing tv when all of a sudden a 2" black line appeared in the middle of the screen and won't go away. Next to the black line the remaining tv program is distorted in the middle of the screen. When you turn off tv you still see the black line in the middle for a couple of minutes and eventually goes away. Please help with any suggestions where and what to look for first when I open the lid of the tv.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

It sounds like an Intergrated Circuit (IC) has fried. Even on a good day, this is not something you can attack at home. As a tech (and as an owner of that model samsung), I'd need a map & tools to know what's going on. Your best bet in this situation is to contact Samsung and let them recommend an authorized service center in your area. Sorry I can't be of more help, but this is a rather serious problem.
