    Clarification: Samsung side-by-side is a twin-cooling system

with two separate condensors and systems to monitor.

Unit is 2 years old. Freezer is set with digital control panel

to 8 degrees but keeps going lower, 6 then 1 ... etc..

It has been well on the freezer side and this happened after I

unplugged and plugged in after 15 mins or so.

I am sorry but I am not familiar with this brand. If the temp can not be regulated, I would say it's the thermostat.

I am sure there is someone on this sight that can assist you better then I can on this model.

    Good Luck

A refrigerator or freezer that is cooling, but cooling poorly, may have a problem in one of several areas:

Evaporator coils
Condenser
Poor cooling is often the result of a heavy frost build-up on the evaporator coils or a condenser that is clogged with dust, lint, and dirt.

Evaporator coils Poor cooling is often the result of a heavy frost build-up on the evaporator coils. You can't see these coils without removing a panel on the inside of your freezer. A sure sign that there is a build-up is the presence of any frost or ice build-up on the inside walls, floor, or ceiling of the freezer. Such a frost build-up usually indicates a problem in the self-defrosting system or damaged door gaskets.

The refrigerator is supposed to self-defrost approximately four times in every 24 hour period. If one of the components in the self-defrosting system fails, the refrigerator continues to try to cool. Eventually, though, so much frost builds up on the evaporator coils that the circulating fan can't draw air over the coils. There may still be a small amount of cooling because the coils are icy, but with no air flow over the coils, cooling in the refrigerator compartment is quite limited.

Here's an inexpensive, though inconvenient, way to determine if the problem is with the self-defrosting system. Remove all of the perishable food from the refrigerator and freezer, turn the thermostat in the refrigerator to Off, and leave the doors open for 24 to 48 hours. (Be sure to have several towels ready in case the melting frost and ice causes the drip pan to overflow). This allows the refrigerator to defrost "manually." When the frost and ice build-up has completely melted away, turn the thermostat back to a normal setting. If the refrigerator then cools properly, it indicates a problem with one of three components in the self-defrosting system:

  • The defrost timer

  • The defrost thermostat (also called the bi-metal switch)

  • The defrost heater

If it still does not cool properly, there may be a problem with the refrigerant level or the compressor. You may need to consult with a qualified appliance repair technician to further diagnose the problem

Condenser Self-defrosting refrigerators all have a set of coils and a cooling fan, usually under the refrigerator, that need to be cleaned regularly. If these coils get coated with dust, dirt or lint, the refrigerator may not cool properly. The coils may appear to be a thin, black, wide radiator-like device behind the lower kick-panel. To clean them, disconnect the refrigerator from the power source, use a refrigerator condenser brush (see the Appliance Accessories section) and your vacuum cleaner to clean the coils of any lint, pet hair, etc. You may not be able to get to all of the condenser from the front, it may be necessary to clean the remainder of the condenser from the rear of the refrigerator.

Samsung RS2533SW - Refrigerator Evaperator freezing over, then melts into the bottom of the refrigerator and onto floor. Cooling is fine and fan turns on when door switch is closed. Defrosted once with hair dryer. Is this a bocked drain line issue or something else?

Bottom frig is not cold enough. just connected after 1 yr

Ok do this. Boil some water in a pot then use that to defrost the freezer. This is caused by ice build up in the vent that is keeping the cold air from coming into the refrigerator. Make sure it is defrost completel though cause the ice that is built up is mostly inside and can't be seen. That will solve ur problem I guarantee. Then set the temperature to normal. Like half way. This keeps the frost from building up. Believe it or not as refrigerators get a bit older they actually get even colder and therefore frost build up is more likely. Since no refrigeration can be made completely leak proof, small amount of the freon has leaked out older fridge, and this actually cause it to get colder. You don't need a service technician just defrost then set to a lower setting thats it.

Cannot keep fridge at proper temperture, keep trying different settings

The fridge section runs off of the freezer..
Set the freezer close to recommended factory setting.. If you want things a little colder - go a little higher - etc..
Set the fridge setting close to recommended factory setting..
If you want things a little colder - go a little higher - etc..

The recommended settings are usually pretty good and help the fridge run at peek performance..

Any change in settings will take at least 12 hours or more to take effect..

The freezer is too cold.the highest temp. is 8.we can't go any higher. Our ice cream is so cold we can't scoop it out. we have an RB215LASH bottom freezer.

The fridge (on/off) is actually regulated by the thermostat in the refrigerator section. If the door leaks, it will force the compressor on too often. Otherwise, there is a port where the cold air is delivered (near ice cubes) -try (partially) blocking it with tape
