Definitely you have a driver issue and potentially an LCD issue.
I would do a clean install of the OS.
If you still have issues, your screen is damaged. Lines running thrugh an LCD screen are a sign of dead pixels/columns. You can get screen replacements for laptops via a kit or servicing.
you can check online for LCD replacement kit costs.... prices vary widely for computer models
