Hi, what model#/make is this dryer. When the dryer starts, can you hear a loud click from the lower front?
With model#, I can help you through this.
Please let me know.

    Thank You

Start the dryer and remove the little plastic veiwing cover on the front lower panel. Look and see if the ignitor glows at all.

If it glows and there is no flame, you need to replace the coils on top the gas valve. If the ignitor does not glow, you will need to check the fuse in the back of the dryer behind the rear panel.I will include instructions

Hi, UNPLUG the dryer! Remove the rear panel of the dryer and locate the fuse. It is white and ¼” wide and 3” long. It is located on the blower housing. Remove the wires and check to see if it has continuity. If it does not, you need to replace it.

Please let me know if this help or if I can assist you further.

    Thanks

    Vic

Why wont my dryer stay running?

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire dryer, model# FEQ1442ES, will not stay running. Please check to make sure the door is staying closed. If the door is opening in mid-cycle, then the dryer will stop running. Also, make sure the plug is in the socket tightly. Your dryer could be shaking the plug loose, which could possibly be causing it to stop running. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-
WP

Regular dry it gets hot then stops

If the ignitor tries to light the flame after it quits, the coil on the main valve is likely bad--a common problem. Good luck!

Have a Roper gas dryer and there is no heat coming from it.

If you try it again tomorrow and it works at first but quits again then you need to replace the coils. I have repair photos HERE

Maytag DG482 Dryer Won't Heat

The heat is regulated with a Klixon mounted next to the blower housing near the vent pipe so it can judge the temperature of the air coming out of the drum.Right next to it is a melting type fuse. If the dryer runs and gets too hot the fuse will melt. But the dryer will still run. So if the fuse is good(continuity) and the dryer control(cycle) thermostat is also good then you should have power going to the gas valve assembly when the machine is running unless the timer is in the no heat or wrinkle free/cool down mode. When the gas valve assembly is energized the flame sensor a%20flame%20sensor%202.bmp flame sensor mounted outside the burner chamber detects the heat from the ignitor. When the heat is very intense then the sensor shuts down the ignitor
a%20igniter.jpg Ignitor and that frees up the power so that the coils can be fully energised and open the gas gates. The gas comes out and hits the red hot igniter and you have ignition. It stays on for maybe 2 or 3 minutes or until the control thermostat is satisfied and shuts down power to the gas valve assembly. So... If your gas dryer has a good flame sensor and a good igniter AND the dryer will work some and quit, replace these: dryer%20coil%20kit.jpg Gas operator coils
part# 279834
The coils get hot and quit on these machines when they get a little age on them. It is aggrevating because it is a hard to diagnose thing. But well worth the 20 bucks. SOURCE

Gas dryer - bruner will not come on

Probably a broken belt or a bad start winding. Remove the rear panel and check the fuse mounted on the blower housing. If open replace it and clear the vent to the outside. Click here for fuse locations and pictures.

My gas dryer has stopped heating up.

More than likely the operating coils are getting hot and opening. If it heats a little tomorrow after cooling back down but quits again replace these critters:

I have a Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer that will turn on, rotate, but will not get hot and dry the clothes. A load of clothes in the afternoon, didn’t dry, tried again but didn’t dry – went to bed after putting on auto dry - next morning the dryer was still rotating and didn’t turn off. No hot air – only cold air.
