Question about Sony KV-32V16 TV

1 Answer

No picture, sound and/or stanby indicator light...dead!

I have a KV-32V16 since 1996.....service was great. Since I live in the lightning capital of the world, I shut the TV off every night and shut the spike protectors switch off as well; cutting all power. In the morning, as usual, I turn the power strip (spike protector) on and then the TV..... then nothing. Absolutly no responce. I checked the power cord and the fuse... they check good... with no burn smell in the cabinet. Can you help point the way to what might be the cause.

Best regards,

Re: No picture, sound and/or stanby indicator...

Loss of low voltage supply has happened. This regulates the ability of the set to sense the remote as well as the front panel switches. Could be anything from open T1 secondary to a regulation problem; i.e. excess drop from defective component....accordianman

I have a Sony Trinitron KV-1214, manufactured in 1975. When I pull the power-on volume knob, the channel indicator lights up - but there is no picture and no sound. Is it simply dead or possibly...

It sounds pretty dead and the odds of a tv that old being repairable are quite low. To be honest i would say that you're luck for it to have survived that long but it's time to get a new tv. You can get a new tv for the price of a repair anyway.

My sony TV wont turn on.

Un plug and let stand for one minute. If it still does blink then use the reset on the remote and press it while pressing the power button on the TV.

Count the flashes and verify that the model is KV-32FS100. The flash count will indicate the circuit in which the problem was detected.

Sony KV-32S40 32" TV problem

intermittent problems can usuall be liked to bad solder connections. And sony typically has some that will develop after a few years in the power supply. so check for bad sodler connections throught the main board & give a close look to the power supply & check you work after to make sure you have no shorted pins. good luck.
