This is a driver related issue. Consider system restore to factory default.

Pavilion dv7-6c95dx usb question

According to your manual the 3.0 USB Ports are on the left side of the computer and they are backwards compatible with 2.0 and 1.0 usb devices.

The right side of your computer is 2.0 and backwards compatible with 1.0 usb devices. The fact that your devices won't work on the right side tells me that they are 3.0 devices and will only work on the left side.

Here's a link to your user manual. Look at the description of the left side and right side usb ports. It gave the speil about 3.0 for the ports on the left side.

One USB port outlet of my laptop is not working.

Interestingly some USB ports can not power all accessories that are plugged in to it. Try another port, if that works you're still in business. I believe that unit has at least 4 ports to use.

I have same problem. My usb ports just quit one day.

Your problem was cut off but I'm assuming it's that you've lost your USB ports. If this is the case then either you have a virus interfering or a Windows file is corrupt. First run these AVGFREE, MALWARE BYTES and SUPERANTISPYWARE. Once you've insure the machine is clean then goto Start, Run and type SFC/scannow. This will put all the Windows files back where they belong. You will need your original Windows disk.

Dead USB Ports...

First go into Device manager and see if there is a Yellow! or a Red (x) next to any of the USB ports. If so right click and there will be a tab with solutions. If that doesn't get you anywhere go into BIOS and search for all of the USB ports. You should be able to add or turn onto Automatic to get them going. USB is simply a port, so some kind of the way the ports either got shut off or they are blocked.
