I cant answer or make any calls i took out the battery and tried to reset the phone and it said it was verifying security software. theres a silver arrow in the top right hand corner when i hit the alt button. none of the keys have their normal functions like when you hit the call button it starts typing letters
Same issue as the others. Phone is only a few months old & in mint condition. When I press the buttons it just types in random letter and numbers. None of the buttons are doing what they're supposed to. I called AT&T and they said it sounds like a device malfunction and that I needed to talk to their warranty dept about getting a replacement, but that shipping would take about 5 days. In the meantime I am unable to use the phone and they cannot give me a phone to use in the interim. I am stunned that they cannot provide better service then this particularly since this was an expensive phone and I have 5 phones on a plan with them.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Seeing as this is a blackberry I need you to do a hard reset- take the battery out of your phone while it is still turned on, then let it reset itself. If that doesn't work, consult with your phone company's tech support. Good luck
A hard reset involves physically removing the battery from the smartphone and then reinserting it. To perform a hard reset, complete the following steps:1) Remove the battery cover from the back of the BlackBerry smartphone.2) Remove the battery, and then reinsert it after a few seconds.3) Replace the battery cover. A soft reset is a three key combination that resets the BlackBerry smartphone without removing the battery. It is only available on BlackBerry smartphone models with a QWERTY keyboard. SureType technology and touch screen BlackBerry smartphones, such as the BlackBerry Pearl smartphone, BlackBerry Pearl Flip smartphone, and BlackBerry Storm smartphone cannot be reset in this manner.
To perform a soft reset, complete the following steps:1) Press and hold down the ALT key on the smartphone.2) While holding down the ALT key, press and hold down the right-hand CAP key.3) With both of those buttons still pressed, press the DELETE key. The display on the BlackBerry smartphone will turn off to indicate that the reset has started, and the keys can now be released.
IF YOU HAVE A COMPANY PHONE - CALL TECH SUPPORT IF ITS A PERSONAL PHONE CALL YOUR PHONE SERVICE PROVIDER ask if there is any special version of software you have to use. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> try a hard reset (take the battery out wait 2 mins then put it back in) if that doesnt work...
