I actually found my problem there are two CPU fan plug-ins and the first one is monitored incase of fan trouble. It shuts down the motherboard. I had it plugged into the second one so it didn't pick it up and it kept shutting down for protection. Thx for the help

The 3 beeps codes is usually a RAM or video cars problem. Try reseating your RAM and video card first. If that does not work try removing the RAM one at a time to see if it boots. If it does then the stick of RAM removed is probably bad. If all this fails then try removing the video card & boot. If it boots without the video card then the card is bad & will need replaced. Good luck & I hope this helps.

Pet pulled out power supply cord and now tower won't work

When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. Most times the problemis with the memory or Video Card. Count the Blinking Lights or Beeps and takenote of their pattern (1 Long or 1 Long followed by 2 Short).

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugsinto the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside thejack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have totake the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto themotherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.Maybe your memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

My computer tower wont stop beeping

Re-seat the memory.. more than likely they have unseated themselves during the dust cleaning. Beeping is usually caused by memory.. Beeps are usually a series like Morris code long..short beeps.. if re-seating the memory doesn't work, try swapping and removing different sticks and differnet locations on the motherboard, most motherboards have 2-4 memory banks or known as dimm slots.

When turned-on. tower will not boot and only beeps

If you recently added new hardware, remove it. Also unplug any USB devices. If that doesn't get you past the BIOS screen, then you need to take your PC to a shop, it sounds like a bad motherboard.

My Hp a1630n does not start up. It does not boot,no beep, screen displays 'no signal'

If it is getting no power at all to the tower, your power supply is probably dead. If you are getting lights but no beeping then it may be a matter of resetting your motherboard. This would entail opening up the computer removing the power cord and removing (carefully) the small watch battery on the motherboard. After waiting about 30 minutes, put battery back in and try to power up. If it still dosen't boot up then it's time to start removing parts and keep trying to boot up until you have narrowed down what the problem is. If all is removed and still nothing. Your motherboard is probably bad. Good Luck.

My computer doesn't load on the screen as I turn it in

A solid amber power LED on a Dell System is indicative of a no post. There are 4 diagnostics LEDs on most Dell Towers (Either on the back marked ABCD, or on the front marked 1234) they can give more details of what the POST problem is.
Troubleshooting: Disconnect all external connections to tower except power, turn it on, see if the LED indications changed. If they change, then connect disconnected items one at a time till the failed item is found. If no change, the open tower, remove all PCI expansion cards, see if system will boot. If still no change, then most likely a motherboard failure. Take RAM out, see if you get a Beep error code when powered on, if no beeps, replace motherboard. If it does beep, try RAM modules one at a time, if it boots with 1 but not the other, replace the effected module. If no boot, with either replace MB

3 beeps on boot no screen and boot stops

sounds like the motherboard trying to give you an error code. search beep codes for the type of motherboard you have and then you will get a possible cause of the interruption.

my friend once gave me an old ibm that had a beeping sound preventing it from booting. i googled ibm beep codes and learned that it was a video card error. i swapped the video card and problem solved

Tower shuts off after it beeps on start up

It COULD be an issue with the video card or the memory. Try to remove and hook it up again. But make sure it will not loose.

Dell vista will not boot up

Typically, it's a memory problem. If you have multiple memory modules, leave one in the CPU at a time and boot your system todetermine which module is bad. Good luck.

(GRA) code on monitor. tower just beeps

Hi there.
GRB means the 3 primary colours and just means the monitor is working and able to receive a signal.
I think in your case it could be related to memory. Remove any new hardware if any and any external devices like printers etc.
Now remove the power cord from the back and remove or open the side panel from the tower so you can get to the motherboard, remove the ram (memory) from the slots and clean the dust from both the memory modules and the memory slots, when they are free of dust just put one module back at a time and restart the PC (if you have more than one)
If it boots up the problem would have been dust, if it doesn't start up at all it well be faulty memory.
Please post back if you need more help or advice.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
