Question about Washing Machines

On the circuit board there is from what I understand is a pressure switch. It has a small tip with a hole in the middle. The clear hose that runs up the back and slips onto that tip. When the error ld is displayed you can take this hose off, put a straw over that plastic tip and **** on the straw. This will make the washer resume operation. Whirlpool tells me I have to buy a new circuit board. Is there anything I can try before I spend $200 on a new circuit board

No - unfortunately the pressure switch is encorporated to the board and is not serviceable.
they are correct - the entire board must be replaced to repair.

Bosch ipx4 washer wont take in water at start


WATER PRESSURE SWITCH: This switch keeps your washer from overflowing. It is responsible for shutting off the power to the fill valve and redirects the power to the timer to start the washing machine running once the correct water level has been reached. Meter check ur water pressure switch?
You can test it with a meter and with a manual test? ( first locate it in the panel, it has a plastic clear tube hose going into it, remove that tube from its connection, now put another small tube or hose into the slot where it was and have the machine set to wash cycle with water in it. Blow into the other end of the tube.
If the machine starts to wash. the pressure switch is more than likely good
( No wash starts - then THE DIAPHRAGM IS BAD AND SWITCH HAS TO BE REPLACED) another test u can do is Remove the hose and submerge in water. Seal one end and blow air into the other end and look for bubbles. Check for an obstruction in the hose as well.
Or take the original hose tube and plug one end and blow into it AT the other end, it should be hard and have pressure, if it is easy to blow and u dont feel any pressure and it feels like the air is going out ?

Another test u can make with a multi meter is by testing the prongs individually.
# 15,16,17 (don't worry to much bout the numbers IF U GET THEM WRONG) place ur meter prongs on both out side prongs or connectors of the switch.
(where the wire plugs into) take note of weather it shows OHMS or infinity ( open or close circuit) ? Now place the meter on the left outside and the middle prong, take note agin what it shows. Now place meter prong on the right outside and the middle prong. Agin take note what reading u get. ( you should actually get a reading of infinity in 1 and a reading of continuity or ohms in the other 2? Now the tricky part. Agin place a small tube or hose into the switch and blow into it, using the meter do the same test agin on all prongs. But now keep the pressure on the switch when u blow into it, in other words use ur tongue on one end of tube to not allow air to escape. When u test it agin now one of the prongs that once read infinity should now show continuity or ohms, and 1 of the other prongs that read ohms should now read infinity or open.

The other item to check would be your water inlet valve. Check it for continuity with a multi meter it should show Ohms or a closed circuit. To test it when water is overflowing unplug the unit and see if it still overflows or continues to fill. If it stops when unplugged. Then it is not a water inlet problem but an electrical signal problem going to ur water inlet valve. Possibly from the panel or board. You can also do a live volt test to see if it is getting the full 120 current, but be sure to unplug unit before testing as this is a live test.
Also another trick to check the water valve, is to first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed

I suspect ur water pressure switch and also check ur water inlet valve.

No water? Or wash agitation or spin? try these:

3 blinks says pressure switch failure to close ,how do fix that or get it to close &where is it located.

CHECK WATER INLET VALVE AND WATER PRESSURE SWITCH WITH A METER.

Washer will not spin or agitate Washer will fil and pump water out motor will not come on Have replaced the motor and the lid switch After replacing the motor the washer worked ok for about 4 or 5...


This is sounding like either a timer or a water level switch problem. I would elimnate the water level switch first. Here is why..... You had to tip the unit to change the motor. Tipping the unit would ensure that the small tube that runs from the bottom (side) of the wash tub to the water level control pressure switch cavitated. Once this is clear the water level control was for a while able to sense proper water levels and the diaphragm inside the pressure switch cycled normally. If the sens line had a pin hole in it or the water level control pressure switch contacts have a problem it will present the symptom you currently have.
I cheat.... I hook up an equal sized tube to the water level pressure switch and add pressure and release pressure orally to force the pressure switch to work. (Automotive vacuum line works like a charm!) If it works by physically forcing it to work then the timer is fine. The Pressure switch is probably ok also. The sense tube running from the presure switch to the tub would be the problem. With all water removed... (drain hose lowered too to empty the machine) tip the unit again. Then see if it will fill and agitate on a small load. Also check to see if it spins. IF it agitates and spins... the sense line if most likely the problem. (pin hole chaffed etc)

There is still a remote possibility of the Timer causing the problem OR the contacts inside the water level pressure switch as the problem. If you can find the tech data sheet inside the console there should be a wiring diagram. Check the water level control for power in and out both with water level reached and empty. If the contacts are working on the water level control pressure switch... your probably looking at the timer as the problem.

When pressure washer is running no water is


Most of the time the problem is just debris in the spray nozzle. The hole is very small and it doesn't take much to clog it. If you can remove the nozzle, just take a pin or small piece of wire & poke it through the hole from the front of the nozzle and rinse it off with the hose. If the nozzle cannot be removed, just take the lance apart in the middle and do the same.

check to see if the flame rod tip is in the flame(like the hot junction on a thermocouple). the pressure switches are a normally closed switch and a blocked flue could cause them to open. the circuit board should run through the safety switches and check them before the gas is opened at the valve. also the drain lines that you see at the inducer fan should be free of condensation but if the inducer fan has condensation in it, it will open the airflow safety switch. you will hear the crackling noise from the fan. also there should be a trap below the fan that should be full of water to keep the fan from pulling air from the wrong place. I would not suspect the board at this point

that is a pressure switch failure code, you can try to clear the barb fitting on the Inducer motor housing that the rubber hose connects to . but without an manometer you cannot test the draft levels to see if the switch is working or if their is a draft problem

I have blew threw the clear tube and it still over flows?


i assume it's a top load and not a front load ..could be bad pressure switch,small hole somewhere in clear pressure switch hose or least likely a hole on inside within air dome area but not through tub to cause leak
