Don't have solution, but have the same problem. My guess is the chip is not holding its state. That could be the chip itself, a cap that isn't holding a charge or an internal battery that lost its ability to keep the circuit live.

Upsetting to say the least. My TV won't remember my custom channel line-up either...

Internally change channel 3 to 4 on VCR

Hi, In most VCRs, as you have posted, there is a switch at the back where you can select the output to either Ch 3 or 4. In some cases, the switch is deep inside and you have to remove a small squarish rubber covering to expose the hole. It is normally close to the antenna input/output. More often than not it is a simple sliding 2 position switch. You would need any tool that can reach and sturdy enough to slide the switch. Internally program output channel selector is very possible, I would guess that its selectable via the menu set-up tabs. A question pls, How did you "I tried to manually change the channel to 4, but the VCR reverted back to channel 3..." Hope this be of some help to you. Pls post again how things turn up or further information. Good luck and kind regards.

There are 5 blinks to my RCA big screen TV. The lamp is new, and the picture plays for about 3 min. then goes dark with sound for 3 min.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Assuming that they are blinking green 5 times you need to open the lamp door, make sure switch is in tied down position, take the lamp out and put it back in, close the door and see if the problem still exists then please revert with the model no# of the TV and also let me know which light is it that blinks 5 times so that I can further assist you. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The TV will automatically turn itself off after approximately 15minutes if it is tuned to a vacant channel or a station that completes its broadcast for the day. This feature does not work in VIDEO mode. If the power is cut off while you are viewing the TV, the last mode memory feature will turn the TV on automatically when the power is re supplied. If the power is going to be off for a long time or you are going to be away from your TV, unplug the power cord to prevent the TV from turning on in your absence. You’ll also need to check the swollen/bulged capacitors on the power supply board inside the TV. The TV itself turned it off in the case of any bad capacitors or overheating with the help of built-in sensors. You’ll need to replace the swollen/bulged capacitors. Please also check the power from and to the TV.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

I can not find all the tv shows what do i do

Channel Edit makes it easy for you to save or delete channels in the list of channels in the TV?s memory. 1. Using the Number buttons, select the channel you wish to save or delete. 2. Press MENU to see the menu. 3. Press upper or lower key to scroll through the menu until SETUP is highlighted. 4. Press right key to enter the SETUP menu. 5. Press upper or lower key to scroll through the SETUP menu until CHANNEL EDIT is highlighted. 6. Press right key to choose SAVED or DELETED. Choose SAVED to add the channel to the TV?s memory. It will be available using the CH +/? buttons. Choose DELETED to remove the present channel from the TV memory. To clear the menu press STATUS/EXIT. Or, wait a few seconds after you finish your adjustment; the menu will disappear automatically. Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance. Thanks Rylee

Try resetting the TV by holding down the "up" button on the remote (with the TV powered on) and then, while you hold down the up button on the remote, hit the power button on the TV. This should do a "factory reset" which will wipe all settings in the TV. There is no reason why the TV should not "remember the last input it was on when it was ;last turned off. Also be sure that the TV is not plugged into a switched AC outlet, like the outlet on the back of the cable bix. The TV should be plugged into an output that receives power at all times.

Aspect Ratio Memory?

Problem could be the fact that you are connecting with composite cables. You should never connect an HD receiver with an analog cable like composite. It does not give a HD picture. You want to hook this up with HDMI. This might also help your problem because of the fact the native aspect ration of composite is 4:3.

For the remote to work, make sure "video" is selected (instead of "tv"). It's the little button on the remote under the red button at the top that turns on the TV ("TV/Video")
As for the split screen, I've had that happen numerous times (when I lose power or revert to default settings). YOu have to go to Setup, Display, and select 4:3.
I hope I have helped you. I'm having other problems - with the audio. Some channels have no audio (maybe 3 or 4) and 2 channels are in SPANISH!!! (??) Weird that it's not uniform. I even tried reverting to default settings (and got that split screen!), but didn't help. It "jumped" a few times to the input type screen. I'm thinking some chip got fried or something. I've had it almost 2 years, and guess that's the "built-in" obsolescence!! :-)
Good luck!

I am not conversant with VCRs sold in the United states, but - a VCR is a VCR is a VCR. So, can i suggest an alternate solution to your problem? Why not use the AV out sockets of your VCR and hook them to the AV IN sockets of your TV? In this manner, you you also get a better image. And of course, you feed In the signal source (Antenna, cable Box, etc) directly to the TV, and use your remote to switch to AV mode whenever you desire to watch movies or Tape.
