Question about Dell Latitude 120L Notebook

Dell Inspiron 9300 not powering/charging

I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 that is near impossible to turn on. My wife used to close it and then set it upright next to the bed on the floor...directly on the power supply plug where it plugs into the back of the laptop. I mentioned to her to stop doing this as the plug would intermittently stop powering and charging the computer. The problem worsened and finally the computer would not power up at all. I had it "repaired" at a local shop. The wife stopped setting the computer in a damaging position when we got it back, but within a month or so the problem returned and now I have a better chance at winning the lottery than getting the computer on. I dont want to pay the $180 for "repairs" again and would like to fix the issue myself. Anyone have suggestions on replacement parts and how to install?

I've never had this problem myself, but it is obvious that the position it was left in didn't help. I'm wondering if it is old? Because laptops are usually powered with lithium-ion batteries, meaning their power degrades over time. If not, i'm afraid I don't know anything you can do. The repairs were most probably bogus and made it worse than it was, and putting it on a hot charger did nothing for your computer. Try ringing up Dell support and see what they say, and if they can't tell you the problem and want you to send it in so they can see and rip you off, don't bother. I would suggest just buying a new laptop all together. Sorry.
