Some laptops just get hot because of the design and fan not being efficient enough. If it's a laptop that has just started getting too hot or the fan is cutting in earlier than usual, check that the vent isn't being blocked ie on a soft surface or more probably it's got a good thick layer of dust on it.

It's normally not too difficult to remove the cover and give cover and fan a good dust and hoover but do make sure it's unplugged and the battery removed first.

You can buy pads with inbuilt fans which help cooling.

There could be other reasons but dust is the most common.

Rating is appreciated.

Laptop batteries, like all rechargeable battery packs, lose their charging capacity over time. Because new Laptop batteries are expensive, replacing the individual cells inside the battery casing can save a lot of money. However, rebuilding a battery sometimes does not work as expected, so it’s important to be willing to purchase a new laptop battery if the procedure fails.

1、Allow the laptop battery to run down completely. Turn off your laptop, then remove the battery. Write down the model number located on your battery to help identify the type of Li-ion replacement cells you need to purchase.
2、Split open a small section of the laptop battery pack (at the seam) with a screwdriver or craft knife. Continue to pry the plastic case loose moving around the outer edge until the entire top is free. This may take a bit of force.
3、Note the number of cells inside the case (usually four to eight). Write down the part number and voltage information printed on the cell casings. Draw a diagram showing the arrangement of the cells and how they are connected, or take a few photos to help with reassembly.
4、Purchase the correct number and type replacement batteries from online shop such as udtek.com, based on your battery model and cell specifications. Six Li-ion cells typically cost around $30 to $40.
5、Carefully remove each cell using a craft knife and wire cutters as necessary. Each battery pack is different, but the cells are usually wrapped in a plastic casing with metal contacts attached to one end. Lay the metal contacts, wires and casing material aside.
6、Use double-sided tape or a solder gun (only if necessary) to attach the metal contacts to the cells and circuit board. When finished, the old cells should be completely stripped (naked) and the new cells should look like the old ones as much as possible.
7、Place the new cells inside the case, referring to your diagram or photos if necessary. Glue the battery(Compaq DV6000 Battery) pack top back on. Charge the new battery for at least 24 hours before using it.
Tips & Warnings
Keep an eye on the new battery while it charges for the first time. If the contacts are not connected properly, the battery could overheat and cause damage to the laptop.

My Dell inspiron 1545 fan runns all the time with a loud sound, could you please tell me what should I do?

Maybe it has full of dirt or with broken blade. Unscrew the bottom cover where your fan is placed then remove it. clean it or got o nearest computer repair shop to check it.

Window shut down when scanning.

That is mainly caused by your laptop CPU heat too hot. Just clean the CPU fan and dip some lubricant oil into the CPU fan. Then buy a laptop cooling stand.

Or you can take a look at http://www.laptops-battery.co.uk/blog/how-to-replace-the-dell-processor-thermal-cooling-assembly/

My laptop heats up and shuts down after a while . just started doing this, then turns on okay after an hour or so.

Either the cpu blower is not working or the the air ventilation openings are closed. Use a brush to clean up all the openings for air flow all over the laptop. If possible use clean air under pressure towards the air openingsin co-operation with the brush cleaning. In case of using air under pressure, leave the laptop at least one hour after the cleaning to relax.
Start the laptop and check the results. In case of the problem still exists, the problem is at the cpu blower. In order to get at this blower you must open the laptop's case. Since this is not so easy I suggest to get the laptop at a technician asking for cleaning and checking the cpu ventilation.
In case you are capable of opening the case or if you come up with a problem, don't hesitate to post me a reply.
If you are satisfied, rate my solution with the "thumbs".

Is any cheap battery for laptop d620

Hi - i've ran a D620 now running a D630 and yes the battery life is extremely poor even when the battery is new.
The option above will give you extra - you can also buy a moduler battery that will fit into the CDROM port which will give you even more!

or ebay is your best bet...
