Why do i keep loosing my signal

Take look to see what is between the transmitter and your antenna. Metal? refrigerator, ducting? If the two devices are too close try moving them apart a couple of feet.

Extend your PCs wireless network range

This is a simple trick to increase the range of your wireless home network. You will need a USB network card, a salad bowl and aluminum foil or a metal bowl, 2 rulers or other plastic or wooden rods, some tape, and a USB extension cord.
1. If using a metal bowl, you're already set. If using a plastic or glass bowl, wrap the inside with the aluminum foil.
2. Tape the rulers or other form of extension rods you are using to opposing sides of the rim of the bowl so that when looking down on it they will touch above the center of the the bowl.
3. Tape the wireless USB card between the rulers and position it so the USB plug is facing away from the bowl.
4. Plug the USB extension cable into the card and plug the other end into your computer.
5. Position your crude USB antenna in the direction of the wireless rounter for best signal.
6. With the antenna facing the wireless router or access point, you can reposition the USB card at the end of the rulers moving it closer or farther away while watching the signal strength of the network on your PC until the maximum signal is achieved. When you achieve maximum signal secure the wireless USB card in that position.

Increase a signal with antenna

What makes you think you need an antenna with 20 dB of gain to get 300m with 2.4GHz?
If that's an RP-SMA connector on the card, try an (8 dBi) RE09P-RSP from (about $40).

My wireless adapter keeps saying its disconnected

If the wireless router is far away this will cause drops, you need a stronger adapter, one with a larger antenna or one that has a antenna with several feet of cable so you can move the antenna closer to the source. You should also check for newer drivers, this can help.
Don't forget to use security.EX-WPA, Shared key, and so on.

Download detects networks

Usually when this happens the antenna wire connections have come dislodged. Did you put this in recently? Has the laptop been dropped? The internal antenna wires snap onto this type of internal wireless card and not always snap on secure. THat would be the 1st thing to check.

Not enought signal

Ok there are a few ways to increase ya signal strength... One can purchase an antenna that has a high "Gain" and connect in place of existing antenna.. One can place the Existing Antenna in "Optimal Positions".. ie: Up High with an Unbroken Line Of Sight between Antennas. One can sometimes increase the Output from your WiFi adapters.. you must check any documentation to see if this is possible. One can make a thing called a"Cantenna" here ---> There are "Other" Home made antennas that are cheap and easy to make, some simply made from cardboard and tin foil. The most important thing to remember is, Antenna Placement for best signal strength, with least amount of obstacles in between units, & up as high as practicable..
