Question about Frigidaire FDE647RF Dryer

1 Answer

Drum makes noise after I unscrewed the screws inside the machine.

I have de frigidaire dryer model (FDEC647RFS1) or (FDE647RFS1). Unfortunately, I wanted to clean the lint accumulated behind the drum and I unscrewed the screws of the drum thinking that I could vacuum the lint. Then, the part back of the drum fell and I had a lot of trouble to reajust the hole of the screws to put it back together again. Now the drum rolls well but there is a noise (a bit like a loud whistle) when the dryer is working. What could have happened? How can I repair my mistake? Thank you Celine from Montreal Quebec

Take a putty knife and press in on the tabs at the right and left corners where the lid meets the front panel. Lift the lid to the rear. Remove 2 screws on the right and left inside frame near the front panel. Disconnect the door switch wires and remove the front panel.Remove the belt from the motor. Use the belt to pull up on the rear of the drum.
Remove the drum from the cabinet.
The rear drum support cup is attached to the rear of the cabinet.
The rear drum support ball is attached to the drum. These parts come as a kit to be replaced.

Hi, I have a frigidaire front load washer, model FTF2140ESO, that is making a high pitched screeching noise when it enters into the final spin cycle. The noise ramps up in volume as the drum spins faster....

Some times screws can work their way out near the drum and rub against the drum causing the squeak. You might have to take off the back of the washer and see if there is anything loose contacting the drum.

Make Frigidaire dryer model Gleq2152es1 is making a loud sqealing noise and the clothes getting hung in top of dryer.

mostly the noise your hearing is the drum running on the side of machine .the baering/bearings have collapsed in your drier . Most driers these days have the bearing encased in the outer drum and i mean molded to the outer drum . You cant replace them and the manufacturer doesn`t really want you to . Sorry about that = looks like a new drier for you .

Thumping noise when drum makes a full revolution

Open the cabinet and look at the screws that hold the vane (paddles) on inside the drum. They will come loose and make the noise you described.

Maytag neptune dryer making banging noise on each rotation on the left side facing the front. its almost like a thumping noise what do i need to do please?

The drum baffle screw has unscrewed itself and the head is thumping against the inside top panel. Pull door, lift lid, rotate drum to find screw sticking out and tighten.

Our Frigidaire FEX831CS dryer started making funny noises and has completely stopped. We hit the start button now and all we hear is is humming in the machine. We checked the belt and it does not seem...

Check the inside rear of the drum for the three screws in a triangle closest to the center.
If these screws come out the drum rolls off center and the motor can no longer drive it.
Good Luck

Electrolux FGX831FS1 dryer drum, only spins one way manually

Check inside the drum to make sure the three screws in a triangle in the rear center are all there, if they fall out the drum goes off center and the motor can no longer drive it.
This model has no rollers, the front of the drum has plastic glides mounted on the front of the drum that ride on teflon impregnated pads that are glued around the door.
The rear is supported by a steel ball screwed to the rear of the drum (the 3 screws that I think are causing your troubles) that rides in a plastic saddle screwed to the rear of the machine.
If the excess drum movement is only up and down you should replace the front glide system.
Good Luck

LG DRYER MAKING CLUNKING NOISE

Clunking could be from bad rollers or cracked drum. Check the drum seam for a crack. If its the rollers you can do the same thing as drum replacement only order the rollers. I got my parts from Sears parts. The below is for a 2514 but should be close for yours.

Ordered drum from Sears parts. 3045EL1002D
Cost of 85$ + 15 to ship. It came in 5 days.

Here is how to do it on a DLE2514W. Takes about an hour. I only used a phillips screw

driver. Take your time and look over the situation. I hope that I rememberd

everything. Good luck.
