Question about GE WBXR3100B Top Load Washer
My Whirlpool Estate TAWS 800 JQl washer makesa banging sound almost as if the "load is unbalanced" during every spin cycle. There is no odor though. It is very loud and sounds as if a train is going through the house. No other symptoms...wash goes though complete cycle. Any suggestions?

you may have something stuck in the drain pump......
first try using a wet/dry vacuum attach it to the drain hose and try to **** out what ever you have stuck in there... if that works you are good... if not you will have to get open the cabinet to get to the drain pump

As you've already had a new motor fitted, it could be something is preventing the drum from rotating freely. This may then be causing the drive belt to slip on either the motor pulley or the drum pulley. This would also overload the motor and the motor control electronics would shut down to protect everything.
If not, then it is most likley a fault in the motor control electronics. I am not familiar with this exact model, but the motor control electronics are quite often on a separate circuit board mounted somewhere inside the machine where there is a good flow of air. Even when working normally, the motor control electronics have to handle a lot of power and therefore get hot. However, they should never get so hot as to give a burning smell.
It isnt possible to check the motor control board just by looking at it, so unless you have electronics knowledge, you may have to risk getting a new board and hoping that fixes it. Otherwise it's time to call an engineer.

Grab the agitator at the base and attempt to rotate it clockwise and counter clock wise. It should remain firmly in place. If there is movement the agitator spline is worn.
This is your Agitator:
It does not come with the fabric dispenser. It has to be ordered seperately. You should be able to transfer you old one to the new one if you do have to replace the agitator.
Besides the agitator the drive bell can also be the source of the noise. It is located under the agitator.
This part is the most likely cause of the noise.
Thanks for using FixYa.

SOURCE: estate washer bangs and shakes
has it been releveled? if it has then it sounds like there is a problem with the counter weight or suporting springs/bracket the only way to tell is to check inside the machine.
