14 hp dynamark tractor that won't start

I have a 14 HP 17 year old tractor that ran fine last fall. I went to start it up this spring and nothing happened. The battery is fine and I can jump the starter solenoid and the starter will go, it is only 1 year old. I have since replaced the starter switch and starter solenoid and one of the safety switches. I can start the engine by jumping the solenoid but if I use the key nothing happens,I am stumped.

Have you checked the inline fuse?. Also you could unplug the ignition switch and clean the terminals, particuarly the one with red wire in it. That the one that has constant power to it and tends to corrode over time. Hope that helps.

check for fuel try starting fluid if it fires on that then you have spark if it does not then you have a spark problem and seeing the command engine has two coils check the safety switches on the mower side

Kawasaki 17hp fh500v won't start.

Did you try to use a little starting fluid to get it going. If you did and it would not fire, then you have no spark at the plug. If you did and it did fire, then you have no gas getting to the carb.

My HP zd7000 laptop was working fine it had issues with not holding its power and the power cord was a little loose then the screen spazed out and it shut down now it won't start up the lights and fan come...

wecome to the Non HP forum ,we are not HP so answers will be weak or dead wrong, ever heard of HP:> below is the REAL DEAL.

ok on topic, sure they all ran fine before, all did. 14 years ago....
and even old ones after you push the F11 recovery key run fine
all did, before being slammed.

so you took out the battery , very good that is the first thing to do
on all lap tops, you do know they can short out ,right
so leave it out, see the PC runs like new. (sans big battery)
now buy a battery if mobile uses are paramount, or if not , not.

next time post how the PC runs with no battery.
(all you said was makes it stop) Im not clear on that at all.
details, pretend the helper is blind, (we are, with only text)

seem to me it's time for a new main battery. $15
my guess is this PC is 14 years old 2003 model (or 2004)
and the CMOS COIN cell battery will fail next. (or is now!)
most COIN CB never last 14 years, much less 7 (3-5y is par)

the next failure will be. the screen. has CCFL screen back lamps
that go dim ,turn yellow then fail or blink or other odd effects all BAD.

frankly im suprised the PC does anything right at all.
what OS is there windows XP?

long long ago it was reviewed here.

the service manual online shows 2003.

First thing u might want to check is the governor--Make sure the spring and linkage is hooked up properly and the governor is moving freely.

When you let it sit did you remove all the fuel or add a additive? If you did not then I would recommend that you remove all the fuel and add brand new fuel to your system. Gasoline only last for about 3 to 4 months before it will start to go bad and this sounds like your problem

Craftsman 20HP , can't stop freewheeling,

Sounds like your problem is the key in your rear wheel is missing or sheared, you have to remove the wheel @ tire assembly ,pull rubber cap off then clip to remove if one of the keys is sheared or gone it will go into gear and the brake will work ,but they will only stop the shaft without the key it will not move or brake becuase its not attached if you know what I mean.

I have a 14 hp 17 year old dynamark lawn tractor that dosn't star

Based on design, the switches can be either normally open or normally closed. Open meaning the 2 terminals are not connected, closed meaning they are connected. The trick is, whichever they are, when they are actuated the state should change from one to the other. If it is normally closed, when actuated it will be open. Put an ohm-meter on it and check, then actuate and verify that it changes between infinite and zero ohms as you go back and forth a few times. This verifies that it isn't intermittent.

Also, some mechanical action is required to actuate the switch, so be sure that whatever that action is, it is happening and properly aligned.
