Behringer ep2500 amplifier

Can I drive 4 speakers with this amp by splitting the output signal?
If so, is it ok for two of those speakers to be 4 Ohms, and the other two to be 8 Ohms?

Re: Behringer ep2500 amplifier

if you are to bi-amp to use as fronts, just make sure you put the same impedance to the same out for each I.E. 8ohms to "voltage out"/or to "current" and the 4ohms to the other out. you might have one pair of speakers louder than the other , that can be fixed with speaker level controls on the loud pair.

Re: Behringer ep2500 amplifier

Yes you can,,,,,BUT the output labelling on the AMP will tell you where you can connect the 4ohms or the 8ohms....please read these labels and connect the 4ohm speakers to the 4ohm terminals, and the 8ohms to the 8ohms terminals...

If you intend to connect the 4ohm and the 8ohm speakers in parallel then the output impedance terminals you use should be the 4ohm ones.

If there is no labelling showing any 4ohm output terminals then its best if you dont use the 4ohm speakers at all....just connect the 8ohm to the 8ohm dont mention any crossover networks inside the speaker boxes or if you have tweeter speakers... so just stick to the basics above at present....

I have an EP2500, which burns speakers. I connect with a lamp in series, and when it receives high frequency signals, lights the lamp, the output looks correct, but consumption is increasing dangerously....

There was an suggested solution here for your problem.

There are electronic components which seems to be undiscoverable

for a moment.

• The fault could be anywhere from the differential input stage

to the VAS circuits.

• One has to check thoroughly components , and proceed

troubleshooting without the power transistors connected.

• Check for offset voltage on each of the main amp output.

• Check for idling current

A good amp never produce an over of 0.7V on its output.

Both fuses burnt and both clip and signal led on? seems to have full power behringer ep2500

The fuses have blown due to a short circuit, ie some part acting like it was a piece of wire. The chances are (with the LED's showing) it's the main amp semiconductors (on the heatsink) that have gone. The cause is either connecting a wrong (unsuitable) speaker(s) for the job, or letting the two wires (to each speaker) touch each other.

The last time I had a problem like this there was a defective transistor in the from end that was generating noise in the 30K range. Too high to hear and too high for the speakers to reproduce, but enough to put quite a load on the amp. Does this occur even with no speakers attached? If so, then put an osciloscope on the outputs and look for signals. WIth no input, there should be no output at all except for a little noise. You can also see if there is any DC on the outputs as well.

Please update this with what you find.

The output section has a problem and the amp is in protect mode. This unit needs service. Expect parts cost arounf $30-$50 plus the local labor rate.

Behringer amp

Hello pare ko.
EP2500 is a pro amp, manufacturer says that. Notorious to me.
Got 5 of these for repair. Clip is of course cause by too much
signal from source. If the amp is still clipped or on protect even w/out
signal in, time to open and do repairs inside. usually a MOSFET
inside P50N06 (50V-60A) is kaput. or MJE15033G and MJE15032G.
Now if blowing main Fuse, main txistor 2SA1943/2SC5200 maybe gone.
Read carefully the setting of your dip switches setting at the back.
This amp can drive 750 watts/ch@4 ohms.

Good Luck From Siliconchip

Behringer EP2500 no output on CHANNEL 1

check all op amps for correct voltage swing +-should be equal, test output of op amps no voltage should be present, use chasis gnd as tester neg.check voltage regulation especially 12v or 15v +-.note some amps show unequal led indications when only 1 channel connected to a load.I will try to get some more info on this specific amp because i don't know this circuit well, keep in touch as you update though.
