GE Frontloader - will spin @ beginning of cycle, but never again

GE Frontloader - Model No: WCVH6260FWW
Will spin once or twice at beginning of cycle, but never again. Water does drain totally during cycle. Cleaned filter last night, but still doesn't work.

The switch on the door stays locked. Don't think that is the problem.

Check the switch on the door where clothes are loaded. I may be failing intermittently.

Washer drains from tub only on the spin cycle.

Go to the internet and type "washer spins only on beginning of cycle" in address block. You will likely get a drop down list of several possibilities for your washer brand.

My front load GE washer is filling with water and draining but doesnt spin, exept for the first two spins when started

it isnt the door lock or it would not work on the first 2 spin cycles and unless you have huge out of balance loads the door(not lid as lids are only on top loaders) interlock probably isn't at fault. i would cleanout the tub to pump trap inspect the pump for blockage and flush the discharge hose. it doesn't cost a penny to do this and has fixed many front loaders with the same problem

I have a front loading GE wcvh6260fww that will fill with water, but will not agitate or spin out the water...thus, no washing of clothes regardless of cycle selected. The timer counts down and the water...

probably a bad door switch, if you can take the door or top off and find the wires running to the switch take the wires off theswitch and plug them together by wrapping electrical tape around them and then try the washer. If that dont work may be a bad control board

Manual claims machine has ability to spin out water but there are no options on the control panel

There are different models withing this line by GE. There is one model that have a "Drain & Spin" cycle on the main cycle selection knob, but on the higher end models, you'll need to use the "Rinse & Spin" cycle.

This will add some water to the washer, but the basic cycle will give items a quick rinse and spin.

If you're trying to use just a spin cycle to wring out towels, etc. and you don't have the "Drain & Spin" cycle, (which you shouldn't based on your higher end model #), just use the "Rinse & Spin" cycle and it'll do a nice job of getting out a lot of moisture from your clothes, towels, etc.

I have this same washer in my own home and refreshed my memory by reading my manual (again) to see that this is what you need to do, to spin out stuff.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Not spinning

The belt is located in the back of the machine
You have to remove the top of the machine and then remove tha back cover. then you can see where the belt is, you will need some tools to replace the belt a socket or wrench us needed to adjust the motor pulley position so that you can get the new belt in place then you need to move it back to tighten the belt so it wont slip. its not a difficult job just make sure its disconnected from the power when you do it

Spin Cycle doesn't work on our GE Energy Star frontloader, please help

You may have to remove the lower panel and clean the drain pump filter. Easy job, once the panel is removed the filter will be right in front. Get a bucket and unscrew the filter cover (3 very small screws at the bottom of the front panel) and you should find a ton of lint and stuff in there. This model has a pressure switch that detects if there is water in the tub. If so it will do this pause and slow spin. Once the pump filter is clean you should be good again. It worked for me.
