Question about Philips Televison & Video
I have a Philips Magnavox model # 9P6040 C104.The picture is extremely poor. The picture is a dull greenish blue. There is no auto converge option on this model, however there is a converge option that you have to do manually. I did that and still no help. It is also not a problem with the color options. I have been told that this is a "picture tube problem". Can anyone confirm this? And if so, how much would this cost to replace? What parts etc. Thanks - Jacob
The problem is the fluid in the Blue and Green CRT's needs replaced. ( ethylene glycol ) It not something you should attempt if you've never done one. The average price with most shops is around $250.00, and your other concern, there is no auto convergence on that model. It's all done by remote in your menu and in the service mode, but that's not your issue, just get the fluid replaced and your back in business. Have a nice Holiday Weekend.
