Pump seal is in two pieces. The piece with the spring should be easy to remove. To remove the piece that is inside the motor side of the pump housing, place the housing with the side that should be facing the motor downdwards on a flat surface. The hole in the housing is larger than the seal, so use a screwdriver and, placing first on one side of the seal and then the other, strive the handle of the screwdriver sharply and the seal should pop out the bottom. The seal is rubber, with a ceramic insert, so if you don't tap the screwdriver too sharply the insert won't be damaged. In any case, it's a good idea to replace the entire seal if you have had to open the pump and remove the impeller

Sounds like you need a new Mechanical Seal for the wet end. Pretty simple job to change the seal kit.
It is also a lot cheaper to do that than purchase a new pump.

My flo-Master XP2 06620397-2 has large leak when the jets are turned on. Do I need a new one or can the leak be repaired?

sounds like you need a new seal kit if it is leaking between the plastic pump housing and the motor. this seal kit is a model PS-200 and will run you about $30

Motor runs but will not pump

Remove the unit and open up the pump end and inspect the impeller for blockage or perhaps it is broken; clear or replace as needed. You should also replace the pump seal at the same time. If these seem beyond your ability a local electric motor repair shop should be able to do this for you for less than $60.

I have a leak in the pump

Your pump seal is leaking and needs to be replaced. The part costs around $10. Having a shop install it would probably cost around $60. If you wish to do it your self be sure not to touch the seal faces as you press them into position.

I have Aquaflo XP2 3 HP pump. I have removed old seal and need to install new seal. I have 2 seals, one with a spring in it that goes next to the impeller and another that has a black end and a white end....

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

The rotating assembly, with the spring, goes on the back of the impeller with the shiny carbon face away from the impeller. That face mates to the white ceramic face of the stationary portion. The rubber (black) boot seals the white ceramic into the pump housing. The cardboard 'ring' is provided to allow you to press in the stationary portion without touching it. You DO NOT want to touch either seal face (The shiny parts that rub against each other once you are done). Doing so can cause a brand new seal to leak.
