Question about HP 417035-001 - HP Pavilion dv2000 Series Laptop Full Featured Intel Chipset Motherboard

Audio/sound problems I have HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop, whenever i insert a headphone jack an tried to listen audio through headphone, the audio still comes out from the laptop speakers, how am i suppose to listen only through the headphone and mute the laptop speakers, i tried different headphones but the audio still comes out from the laptop speakers. besides, i couldn't find the audio software installed from where muting could usually be done and i do not have the motherboard driver as it has been lost and i haven't made any backup. the solution i wanted is when i connect the headphone, the laptop speakers should automatically mute itself, so that i can only hear from the headphone and not both. I just want to hear the sound output from the headphone and not from both the laptop speakers and the headphone simultaneously/at the same time.

Sounds (pun intended) like you have your headphones plugged into the microphone input. See if you can change the spot they are plugged in...

good luck

sounds like it can be the hardware. try to uninstall and reinstall the latest audio driver then configure your speaker settings and volume settings. if this does not work, you may need to get the audio card or motherboard replaced.

You say that you get sound from the speakers but not the headphones,, what i advice you to do is going to control panel, go in hardware and sound, in device manager, look for your sound driver for example, sound max, once you found them right click and uninstall, afterwards restart your pc, that should fix your sound by reinstalling your drivers, if that doesnt work i recommend going to control panel sound settings and switching sound outputs..

Res.sir, i have a hp pavilion dv2000 laptop in this laptop headphone not work

first of all check whether the port is working correctly or not. For that use any other headphones. If they are working then ur present headphone set is gone. Or else if it is also not working then goto control panel -- sound and audio devices and then go to volume --advanced and increase the volume of all the devices present there..and correctly configure Sound Effects Manager which is present in the control panel ..in that u can configure the type of speakers u use or headphones ..there u adjust it to headphone..then the job is done..

HP PAVILION ze2000 speakers not working

First of all, make sure that the issue is with the Speakers or with the Audio Card of the notebook.

First, download and install the Audio Drivers of the Notebook from the link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp30001-30500/sp30262.exe

Please save the file in the Notebook and double click it after the download completes to install the drivers.

Restart the computer once the installation is completed.

Now, try playing any audio file using Windows Media Player.

If you are not able to get any audio from the speakers, try pluging Headphones into the Headphone Jack of the Notebook.

If you are able to listen audio from the Headphones, the issue is with the Speakers where you need to replace them.

However, if you are not able to listen audio either from the Speakers or from the Headphones we need to suspect the Sound Card.

Contact HP Chat support and find the Part Number of the Speakers if there is audio from the Headphones.
