Question about Jandy LAARS LX250 - PROPANE, DIGITAL READ-OUT, LOW NOX

Blower wont start on its own

I have the LX250 and the blower wouldnt start. I turned the unit on and spun the blower blade myself and the blower started, the unit fired up and the heater worked. I assume my problem is the blower capacitor. I dont see a blower capacitor listed in the parts section of my owners manual. Does anyone know if I can buy one? Also, how hard is it to replace this part? I assume it will be near the motor somewhere?

Most likely the brushes inside the blower motor are worn.

I have a goodman ar24-1 blower motor that will not start. I have changed the capacitor, checked the thermostat, spun the blower motor but still will not start. Outside unit runs but no blower. Any ideas?...

Check the relay or sequencer that controls the blower if it has one of those. If the fan is controlled by a circuit board then you problem may be there. If it is controlled by a circuit board then you can check for power at the fan connection when the fan is supposed to be on. Then there is always the possibility that you blower motor is burned out. You can use and ohmmeter to check the motor windings. You said you checked the thermostat, how did you do that? If you install a jumper between the R and G connections the fan should run if everything else is OK.

I am trying to start a Coleman evcon model dgat075bdf gas furnace. I am getting 3 blinks from the control board, and there is not power to the combustion blower. I have turned the system off for 1 minute,...

I fixed my 3 blinking issue: I pulled off the small blower motor above the vacuum sensor and spun the fan with my finger. It had resistance at first but then it spun freely. I put everything back together and it ran. I figure next year I may have to buy a new motor, but I made it this year. By the way that fan creates the vacuum to allow the sensor to work. It is a safety thing I figure. If the fan seizes up again the unit will sense it and shut down.

Hello TLOEKS You blew the transformer FUSE inside the blower unit! It should be a 5amp blade fuse like the one that goes in a car.It is located at the curcit board at the blower compartment.Replace that to restore low voltage power and every thing will work.Strip back the wire and match color to color to resplice it make sure that they will not touch at any time or the new fuse will blow too.wire nut or electrical tape the wire repair.

Did you clean out the dryer and vent?224997a.jpgdac6538.jpg670f53d.jpg6dfa421.jpgThe thermal fuse is what is blown. Replace the limit that comes with it too. That limit take a beating when that blower wears out and starts slipping. 0e4bfd7.jpg

You can hear furnace running but the blower never comes on.

do you mean the inside blower or the outside unit blower ... actually the problem might be a similar part in either case ... the blower motor has a capacitor mounted on it or near it ... it will be marked something like 160 uf at 200vac or similar . it will have wires attached or plugged into it .. the capacitor is what gives the blower motor a signal to tell it which way to start turning ... once the blower is running then the capacitor is no longer needed ... its only used to get the motor started ... if its bad then the motor will hum but wont turn .. if you manually spin the fan then the motor will take off in the direction you spun it (dont get hit ) .. a new capacitor is not expensive .. you need the numbers off the old "starting" capacitor or just take it with you to the parts place to match it up .. you may be able to order it from Ruud ... a HVAC repair person would likely be able to bring one with him for repair if you give him the numbers off the part or the model number of the furnace .. make sure the blower turns freely by hand (with power off) .. if not it may need bearings lubed .. ..

Blower motor wont start

Every air conditioner is equipped with at least two motors, the compressor and the fan motor. It is possible for the fan motor to be defective and the compressor to be running. If this is the case the unit will appear to be running and may even sound "normal" but no air is blowing out the front or back of the unit. If, after removing the cover of the unit you discover the fan blade is very stiff and difficult to rotate, the fan motor should be replaced. If the fan blade turns freely the circuit powering the fan motor will require electrical troubleshooting. It may be necessary to have a qualified technician locate the cause of the problem, which may be either a problem with the capacitor, the selector switch or the motor itself.
