I installed a new Maytag Model MDB-7 dishwasher. This is a portable model but I've installed it permanently. There is water coming into the dishwasher but it is immediately draining out so no water will spray from the arms. What controls the opening and closing of the drain?

Check for utensils or pot handles that may be hanging below the bottom rack and interfering with motion of spray head.
Clean holes with toothpick.
Check temperature at hot water faucet with meat thermometer. If below 120°F (49°C), turn up thermostat on hot water heater.
