Canon PC740 - Paper Out Sensor

Hi!
The sensor which indicates that the machine is out of paper, has broken. The problem is that I don't know where it was located, so I don't know if I would be able to glue it back on :) (or another workaround).
Anyone who can guide me in the right direction (I only have a user manual, so I don't have the techical information on the machine ... and it's too old to have a real maintenance on it...)
Thanks in advance,
Alain

it is better for the economy to sell a new product than to bother to fix even a small problem

Printer displays alarm and indicates there is a paper jam. However, there is no paper jammed. What can be the problem?

Could be dirt blocking a sensor, damaged sensor, or paper pieces where the sensor can pick them up.

Hi guys,
This error occurs when paper sensor in ADF = Automatic Document Feeder detects some paper inside paper path. Firs, open ADF access cover and check if some broken paper present inside paper path. If no broken paper found in paper path means paper sensor is faulty and you need got new ADF replacement. Thanks

If i not paper in the printer, you must unzip the printer, the paper sensor is skipped. The paper sensor is under the scanner in the middle of printer. If the sensor id broken you need to replace,if the sensor is skipped try to put in the rigth position.Good luck!!!

Machine thinks there's a paper jam

ok what you have done is when you have pulled the paper jam out you have either still have a small piece of paper over the sensor or you have broken the sensor itself it sounds like the later, most people tend to pull out the paper backwards against the feed rollers and sensors just below the feed rollers and it causes the sensor to fall out or break i have seen this so many times,

Error 1300 keeps coming up on myh Canon Pixma IP4000 although there's no paper?

Dear pants53,

Code 1300 indicates that paper jam error occurs. First, check whether any broken paper inside the paper path, remove it then press Resume/Cancel button. If problem still persist, means paper sensor error or paper sensor cam is broken. If it so, then I suggest you bring your printer to nearest service center.

Canon PIXMA ip200

You have a stuck paper sensor.

It can be caused by a bit pf paper still inside the machine, or a foreign object in the paper path, or a bent or broken paper sensor actuator.

If you're willing to take the machine apart, you can check the sensors. If not, contact your local service centre.
