Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone
So we were guessing, many times. So now it's locked... for 4,566,781 minutes. I have no idea why that long. But I haven't been using it for about 6 months because it's been locked. I connected it to itunes already, & it said I needed to put in the password first; but thats what I need? And restarting it doesn't work either.
You almost did it right. This is the right way of resetting your phone:
Start itunes on your computer. Then connect your phone to the computer. Once itunes detected your phone hold the POWER and the HOME buttons down at the same time for about 10 seconds. Once the phone flashes off, let go of the POWER button and keep holding the HOME button until you see a message on the itunes telling you that your phone is detected and needs to be RESTORED. Follow directions and it will do its job. I appreciate your positive vote.

Forgot iphone lock code(passcode)
You will need to do a forced restore on iphone to resovle the iphone passcode lost problem. but when you do a forced restore on iphone, you will wipe all content from the iphone. To do a forced restore hold the HOME button, then connect to the USB cable and continue holding for a LONG time (a minute or more). Once iTunes responds release the button and your iphone will be restored.
or you can try to plug it into iTunes with it at the unlock screen. Somewhere it should say “Unlock your iPhone” or something like that in iTunes. Click it. Otherwise do a restore by going to the screen where it shows how much memory you have used up in iTunes and click “Restore”. Restore it as a new device (not from back up) in iTunes. After that, you can just sync your media and apps back onto it.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Connect you itouch to iTunes.
Press and hold the power and home buttons
Screen goes black, now release the power button. Make sure you don't release the home button until it says "we have detected an iPod Touch in recovery mode."
Once it does this just do a simple restore, by clicking the "Restore" button under the large iPhone picture.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: I bought the iphone off
This device will not preform any other function until it is connected to the computer with a valid SIM card in it. The device will then need to be activated with an AT&T (if in the United States) account. Only then will the device function normally
