The orange light flashes even though I have changed the colour cartridge, The printer will not print

I have changed the colour cartridge. The orange light still flashes. A black and white document will not print

Change the catr insecting unit and the cable together for it to work well. that the problem

Orange cartridge light is flashing. I know the black cartridge is empty, but the colour cartridge is o.k. Why can't I print in colour?


Inkjet printers use a combination of inks to produce colors; while you may not realize it, your printer uses black ink to print colors as well, to darken the hue of a color. Otherwise, it would be limited to very "bright" colors. Replace the black cartridge, you will be fine.

Printer says the cartridge is not installed properly


Your best bet is to try a new cartridge. Though it's possible it is a problem with the print head itself. If it is you will have to go from there.

Possible to print only black when colour cartridges are empty?


This printer does not let you print if even one of the cartidges is out of ink. I suggest you replace them and then in the printer properties change your settings to the way you want color to be spent.

You say it stopped working mid-print... possible paper jam? Ink cartridge not clicked in all the way? (they should all line up evenly across the tops).
In control panel->printers and faxes, right click on Canoni960 and choose properties. In maintenance tab try to do nozzle check and print head alignment. In lower right corner is status monitor, click to see if any useful information in there.

Orange flashing light on printer


No the ink is not to low you could try removing the ink cartridges and using a soft cloth wipe clean the little gold contacts on the cartridge and also the printer. Is the ink cartridge a original one if not even though the HP software states that there is 20% in there the likely thing is that the cartridge is empty replace and this should be OK.
