Question about Sony VAIO VGC-RA810G PC Desktop
I am wanting to add a hard drive to my computer. I have looked at the inside it appears my
Sony VAIO VGC-RA810G only has SATA. Can I add a IDE? and How? do I need to purchase a controler? please help.
It appears that your system has one ide controller for the optical drives, and one sata controller for the hard disk(s).
I recommend installing another SATA drive, the controller in your system is SATA150, so don't spend any extra for a SATA II (300) interface, though if you find a good deal on one, there's no harm in using it, they're backwards compatible to SATA I. I've been seeing 500gig SATA drives on sale for around 100$.
