Have you tried reset button on bottom of your player, open the small clip where you recharge and you will see the small hole there. Also be certain your hold button is off.Good luck. Pedro2

This was helpful insofar as it taught me a possible solution for future problems (assuming i can fix this one) but it didn't help with this current problem.

DOWNLOAD MUSIC

this is how i do it:

go to your list, and hilight the desired song. then press the record button (the top left hand button) and the musical note beside it will turn into a star.this means that the song is on your paylist. (Note: you CANNOT choose songs from this file, but it will shrink the bulk you have to sift through) also, you can try tapping the menu button once, which will give you a list of choices. choose "play mode" and you can change the order of songs, even repeat them!

also, i believe all those things (my computer, my documents ect.) are supposed to be there. they're on mine as well!

Hope this helped ;)

P.S. i got a problem of my own. i downloaded a pic onto my samsung and when i turned it on, the pic was stuck there! now no buttons are working! the pic just stays there! can u help? :'(

How to paste a sme firmware download file to "ROOT" of my yp-t8

Ok you need to know exactly what model number player you are using as there are three versions of the YP-T8. * YP-T8A * YP-T8X * YP-T8Z Once you know that then you go to the samsung site and download the appropriate driver. Looks something like this: FM/200611/20061107201844343_YP_T8_ROM_20060609_138US.zip Once you do that you have to unzip or extract the file. Windows should do this automatically. According to the directions you then take the files that it unzips and put them on your mp3 player. So connect your mp3 player to the computer via that usb cable. It should show up as a Removable Device under My Computer. Find the files you just extracted. Should be YP_T8.fnt, YP-T8.rom and YP-T8.img You then simply copy those files into the mp3 player which is that new removable device drive. The root folder is the first area you see when you first explore the drive. i.e. any folder you see on that mp3 player when you double click on it is actually a sub-folder and not the root folder. So open it up and copy those files right there. After which you then do as the directions say. Unplug the mp3 player, power it off and then connect your charger. It says it will automatically upgrade the firmware and then automatically turn on so it should just be a waiting game at that point. Good luck!

Samsung yp t9

Firstly, "re-set" the T9 (ie hold 'MENU' & "REC', for 3 secs to re-initialise the built-in firmware - refer to your manual, or download manual off Samsung website). This procedure will overide everything. If this gets it goin, then download the latest firmware update from Samsung website (download centre/mp3) and save newest firmware onto your T8 - your manual should explain how to do this. Always update your T9 with latest firmware when available (appropriate with your Windows OS), to eliminate any bugs in the firmware. Failing this, then a replacement battery is the next step. If still under warranty (ie less than 12mnths old), then have an approved Samsung service agent look at it Free of charge. Good luck.
