Question about RCA RS2664 Shelf System

Tuner seems to go out of tune after it plays for about 5-10 minutes

It is strange when I first tune in a station it is fine and playes clear.  Then after about 5 to 10 minutes there will be interference and it keeps getting worse until you can't understand any of the music anymore.  If I change the station and come back to it then it is clear again.  For some reason it seems like the stereo does not keep the station tuned in.  I hope this is a simple problem with a simple fix.  I tried changing the positions of the antenna around and it didn't help.  Also, none of the other radios in my house have a problem getting in the station that this has a problem with.

Am not playing, but fm plays fine. am doesn't seem to pick up any signal. Any suggestions.

AM portion of the receiver may have gone bad. AM is usually the easiest to tune in unless your in a dead spot.

Clear pre set tuner stations on CX-NA909

The manual is available for free at On page 12 it explains it.

It's basically an interplay between a tuned station and the keys that stand for Pause or Stop.

Clear all the pre-set channels

There's no clear all settings there. You need to manually delete each saved station. Try to unplug the power of the unit for few hours and check if that clears all.

CD player fails to read CDs

Cd cleaning disc is not advisable to clean your laser lens.. all you have to do is manually cleaning method! open the unit go to laser lens and clean it with 100% cotton buds then rub it slightly clockwise, but careful this is sensitive parts.

Cassette player works fine, then screeches after 20-30 minutes.

Yeppers very common problem .. If the noise dosent come from the speakers then the problem is in the motor in the cassette deck. if the problem comes from the speakers when the deck is playing a tape, then the problem is in the record/playback switch. you may beable to fix it by spraying just a lttle bit of tuner cleaner inside the switch. It shouldnt cost much to have a repair shop do this as if you spray too much your going to ruin the belts and the mechanism. Good Luck
