Tip & How-To about Samsung SGH-R225m Phone

My phone software suite does not install correctly on Windows.

This happens when the first installation of the software had not been successful .

What usually happens is that wrong system registry cannot be deleted when uninstalling software, or overwritten when reinstalling, therefore uninstalling and reinstalling the software does not fix the problem.

A bad setup happens often because you connect the USB data cable before installing the software, The firewall or security software had not been disabled, when you are asked if to allow a change to system during setup and you deny, when your account does not have administrator privileges, or when Windows has a problem.

What you can do is the following:

Unplug the USB cable.
Uninstall the software.
Do a system restore to a date before installing software for the first time.
Disable antivirus, firewall and security software.
Install again the software. Start software setup with USB cable unplugged.
On Vista, to start the setup, locate the installer file (eg. setup.exe or install.exe) and instead of using double click to run the file, click the right button of mouse and chose "Run as Administrator" from the dropdown menu.
Ensure that you always allow changes when asked by the system.
Connect USB data cable with device on when asked.

If that does not work, then Windows has a problem, in that case you may need to reinstall windows.

Error:1923 service office source engine (Ose) could not be install

You remove a prerelease version of the 2007 Microsoft Office programs. If you then try to install the original release version of the 2007 Office programs, the installation is not completed successfully. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

Error 1923: Service 'Office Source Engine' (ose) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services.

To work around this issue, restart the computer after you remove the prerelease version of the 2007 Office programs.
Also optionally clean your registry with a good registry cleaning software.

My laptop will not boot, instead it goes to a blue screen that states it is not able to access the hive.

I think this is the exact error : Stop: c0000218 {Registry File Failure} The registry cannot load the hive (file): \SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE or its log or alternate

CAUSE
This issue can occur if the System or Software hive for the Windows XP installation is missing or damaged.

RESOLUTION:

To resolve this issue, please follow one of the following methods.

Use the Recovery Console Tool:

To restore a damaged registry hive, use the Recovery Console to restore the backup copy of the hive from the Repair folder. The Repair folder contains a copy of the system's registry hives that were created after the first successful startup of Windows XP.

WARNING : Although data should not be affected by the following procedure, you may need to restore changes you previously made to programs or system settings since the first time you successfully started Windows XP.

To replace the damaged registry hive and restore the backup copy of the hive from the Repair folder: Start your computer to the Recovery Console. You need your original XP CD, boot your PC from the CD and press R when it say 'Press 'R' to use recovery console.

In Recovery Console, change to the c:\Windows folder.

Type cd system32\config , and then press ENTER.

Type dir system , and then press ENTER.

If you cannot run the preceding command successfully (because the file is missing), skip to step 3. If you can run the preceding command successfully, type ren system system.bak , and then press ENTER.

Type copy c:\windows\repair\system , and then press ENTER.

NOTE : If the message that you received referred to the software file, replace "system" with "software" in the preceding command. For example, you would type copy c:\windows\repair\software (instead of copy c:\windows\repair\system ), and then press ENTER.

You should receive a "One file copied" informational message. For additional information about how to use Recovery Console during startup, click the article number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
Q307654 HOW TO: Install and Use the Recovery Console for Windows XP

IMPORTANT : If you encounter problems when you run the preceding commands, you may need to use the Change Directory command ( cd ) one folder at a time before you run the preceding commands. For example, type cd system32 , press ENTER, type cd config , and then press ENTER.

Type exit , and then press ENTER to quit Recovery Console and restart the computer.

i understand this looks a litle daunting, please get back to me if you have any trouble with this.

my windows installer registery is somehow missing files

This error is caused by an Installation file that is called .msi or application is file that installs a program and it happen when that particular program is improperly installed. If you suspect such a software than you should remove it and to avoid such problems you should avoid other software running while installing a new software to be on the safe side.
Please take a backup of your Windows registry at first
To backup the registry go to Start>Run box or Search Programs and files> type Regedit. When the registry window opens click File>export and give the name to the file and select and remember the location and enter. This will take the back up of the registry.
Now obtain a good registry cleaning software. I recommend ReCure or registry Mechanic make sure the versions are the latest. One of the best Registry software is Uniblue Registry Booster. It takes registry backup automatically. These software should be able to fix your problem.
It is also recommended that you see the following link, This software can also make a difference to you
