Based on years of using computers and seeing many keyboards when I used to do IT work, typically it's not standard for many keyboards to have that, sometimes different keyboards might have an "fn" key though which will allow for other options displayed on keys such as volume up or down. I can suggest a keyboard for you with the media keys if you really need it, anyways I hope you're having a good day, and that I helped somehow.

SOURCE: Dell inspiron 6400 keyboard is not working

Do you still have the dell diagnostics cd and the drivers and utilities disk, you can press f12 and boot to the cd and then run the diagnostics, if not its either your cable is not connected anymore and you need to reseat the cable, you can follow these instructions http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins6400/en/sm/keyboard.htm#wp1111863 or http://tinyurl.com/fq6m5 if after reseatting the keyboard and still it wont work then you need to purchase a keyboard for your system.

Volume buttons on my toshiba laptop is not working

There are other ways to adjust the volume.

Right click on the megaphone located at the bottom right near the time. You can adjust the volume there.

Look on your keyboard and normally you can Press and Hold the FN function key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard then hit one of the 3 keys with the megaphone that adjusts the volume (1 key increases the volume, 1 key decreases the volume and 1 key mutes the volume).

You can adjust the volume in the Control Panel's audio or sound properties. Click Start/Control Panel and look for Sound or Audio.

Volume balance not working

There are different ways to adjust the volume. Maybe you have the volume on mute. There are keys that control the volume on some laptops. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN function key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard then hit one of the 3 keys (keys with a megaphone on it) that control the volume.

Some models might have buttons you can press that control the volume.

You can always click on the megaphone at the bottom right near the time and adjust the volume properties.

You can click Start/Control Panel and look for Audio or Sound and adjust the volume.

Solton ms60 keyboard... volume stuck , can't adjust sound once set

There are a number of ways to adjust the volume. 1) Normally a button or keys on the keyboard will adjust the sound volume. You might have to press and hold the FN key or the Alt key then hit the key that adjusts the volume up or down. 2) If you right click on the megaphone at the bottom right near the time you can adjust the volume. If you click Start/Control Panel and look for Sound and Audio Devices you can adjust it there. 4) If you click Start/Programs/Accessories/Entertainment you will see a way to adjust the volume.

Is there a button or switch on the computer, so that you can physically adjust the volume with out having to use the mouse?

look on the keyboard for a little icon of a speake (there may be one for up volume and one for down volume, or it may be arrowns). you press the "FN" key and then one of the arrows to raise and lower volume.

How to unlock the key pad on a dell latitude D600 laptop

Hi. Please do troubleshooting steps below:

1. Check to be sure your "Number Lock" or "Function Lock" keys aren't lit. These can lock out certain parts of your keyboard. If either of these is lit, press them to unlock the locked portion of your keyboard. These can be found at the top right on a laptop and between the number pad and main keys on a desktop keyboard.

2. Save all open programs using your mouse. Use your mouse to restart your computer. This will only work if your computer isn't frozen. If your mouse doesn't move, press the power button on your Dell until the computer turns off. Press it again to restart. If the issue was lack of memory or a locked program, this will unlock your keyboard. Continue to Step 3 if the keyboard is still locked.

3. Shut down your computer using your mouse or power button. Don't restart. Unplug your Dell.

4. Remove the battery if you're using a laptop by turning the laptop over and sliding the battery release latch. Slide the battery out and replace after one minute.

Have a good one!

HI I am just new on laptop and.....

You can either right click on the bottom taskbar and click on properties
and add the volume to the taskbar, or you can go to start, control panel,
sound, and turn up the volume.

It depends on what you are using to send email, outlook express
or a email like yahoo, hotmail. live google, if you use one of these
you do it with these site.

The touch pad has two buttons, it can do everything a mouse does.
The touch pad just moves the mouse, the left and right button is the same as mouse buttons.

There is a ribbon cable between the laptop & the screen. It sounds like you have a short in that cable. If you're not good with tedius electronic repairs, it would be best to have a shop repair it.
