Question about Dell Wireless Keyboard Optical Mouse w0147
Keyboard or mouse volume control? my dell laptop has buttons right on the keyboard so i can adjust the volume and press mute. i love that but on my dell pc keyboard the option is not there afaik. do you know where the secret location could be? or how i can program the buttons to adjust the volume? i would like to do it for my mouse buttons too. i didn't realize this was going to be so difficult. thank you!
Based on years of using computers and seeing many keyboards when I used to do IT work, typically it's not standard for many keyboards to have that, sometimes different keyboards might have an "fn" key though which will allow for other options displayed on keys such as volume up or down. I can suggest a keyboard for you with the media keys if you really need it, anyways I hope you're having a good day, and that I helped somehow.

SOURCE: KEYBOARD VOLUME CONTROL
I was using microsofts intelitype pro software
for my Dell multimedia keyboard..I had to run the program at every reboot. but it worked great for 2 years..But recently I had to reinstall windows and now I cant get that or any other program to work for my keyboard volume.

Do you still have the dell diagnostics cd and the drivers and utilities disk, you can press f12 and boot to the cd and then run the diagnostics, if not its either your cable is not connected anymore and you need to reseat the cable, you can follow these instructions http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins6400/en/sm/keyboard.htm#wp1111863 or http://tinyurl.com/fq6m5 if after reseatting the keyboard and still it wont work then you need to purchase a keyboard for your system.
