Top roller stripped off rubber when had a jam

I have just taken delivery of the docucolur 1200 and run one job off it then we had a jam pulled out all of the paper and when started up again the roller that is under the heat unit stripped of the rubber in pieces.

Where can I get another roller and what can we do to stop this happening again?

If you have just taken delivery, it must still be under waranty. The roller can get stripped so soon. Shld return it to supplier.

I always recommend that paper jams be removed in the direction the paper would normally travel. Forcibly removing jams generally will not damage rollers, as the hardware tend to cause paper to tear before anything breaks. Removing paper jams in the wrong direction however can break one-way "finger" paper path sensors occasionally. If you are not experiencing a jam every single print, you are probably in good shape.

As for cleaning the rollers, if you have taken the rear door off the printer you are halfway there. You should be able to turn the rollers in one direction or the other by hand. There are plenty of products out there to clean rubber rollers (I use Blow-Off Rubber rejuvenator) but rubbing alcohol on a cloth can work as well. Turn the rollers to get at the entirety of them and scrub along the length with an alcohol dampened rag.

When it goes to grab the paper its pulls only on one side of the paper making it pull the one corner of the paper in jaming it

hi this might be down to a warn or loose roller on the pick up bar, if you look into it where the paper feeds, get a ruler or something long enough to reach the side that is not being pulled in and just try spinning the roller, if you cant, it more than likely has warn, if you can it has come loose from the bar, if it is loose, you may be able to with great care, drop a couple of drops of super glue to either side of the roller some sort of fixing glue ( must be strong ) if it is just warn and not picking the paper up, you can try ( its difficult to do but has been done) source a piece of thin rubber ( bicycle inner tube is ideal) cut some strips or a single strip roughly the width of the roller ( the next bit is difficult) try to roughly gauge the circumference of the roller cut the strip off to size required then dab some glue on one side then connect one end on the old roller, then run the printer so it turns the roller ( no paper in) so you can attach the rest of the strip of rubber to it, and then test...hope this helps

Canon IR3530 jamming

Hi, lets go from begining:
1) Remove rollers from lower cass, and put them on first cass. Use fresh paper too. - Does it helps? try abaut 50 copies. If helps replace rollers.
FB6-3405 x1, FC6-6661 X1, FC6-7083 X1
2) when you open right lower door and right door you will be able to see axis with two small rollers.Clean it verry well, use alcohol.
3) On lower right door there must be metal plate for pressure on delivery roller, if there is no plate, put in each corner some tape or filc 2-3mm thick, wich will add pressure on plastic paper cover wich guides paper on delivery roller.
4) Does your jamed paper have any anomalities on itself, like: look like accordian, small wrinkles,...
If yes, check separation plate on fixing unit, pressure of rollers ( between fixing film and press. roller - NIP CHECK ).
5) Beaneath drum you will see small plastic sensor flapper - is he worn out? This is paper registration sensor, if he get in first position before the paper pass him you will get jam code.

Note:
Try to flip paper in cassete, up side down, and try then. If then works, the problem is in moisture on paper.

Hope that helped

For the paper jam you remove the back cover and clean the 4 rubber rollers with alcohol, you can rotate the rollers forward while you clean. For carriage jam you start by cleaning the encoder strip that runs across behind the carriage unit, the clear strip with black bars on it, you can wipe with a Q-tip damp with alcohol. If no help you may need to take apart and clean dried ink off of the service station on the right.

Printer Jam every single page.

You need to clean the exit rollers. You hold a damp rag on the rubber rollers at the top exit and then open and close the front door, it will run for a few seconds each time allowing you to clean one roller at a time. Either plain water on the rag or alcohol will do a great job and get you printing again.

How do you free a paper jam

http://www.blogcatalog.com/blog/recyle-refill-save/0b626c2998c7c099dc2546b280044e68

Persistant paperjams with this printer - clean the excess toner off the rubber rollers and your jam problems will be over.

You will notice a long top roller thats the main culprit (its barely visable above the main paper pickup by a long metal strip).

Obvoiusly before you go in there with a damp cloth you have to unplug the machine and take out the toner cart.

Had a few days with the same infruriating jamming, lucky enough to find the above site full of tips, and now am getting smoother printing.

HP Laserjet 4100 jams after about 50 print jobs

most typical jams are caused by bad pickup roller or separation pad. When you pull out the paper tray, and look inside the printer above the tray area, there's a roller that is held on with a little clip in the center of the roller. Pinch that clip to take the roller out and clean with soap and water. do not use alcohol based cleaners, they dry the rubber up and shorten the life span drastically. The separation pad should be right at the front of the paper tray, clean that also. If your printer keeps jamming after that, you may have some more serious like a fuser going bad.

Paper not picking up and alarm light comes on/stays on

Hi, You have the right idea of cleaning the rubber rollers behind the tray, (if the paper will feed through once then we can eliminate the idea of a paper jam)unfortunantly, when the rollers get too worn out then cleaning is not effective. I work on alot of Brother 5140 printers which look very similar to this model, and we pull out the tray, take the pick roller off of the printer, pull off the rubber part of the roller and rotate it 180 degrees from it former position which gives it a new area of wear. Usually that's a pretty good fix, and it isn't too hard to do, just make sure to note how it was put together before taking it apart. Good luck.

Dell 1700n Jamming

try "rotating the pick up tires". (dell tech's phrase, not mine). pull the paper tray clear out of cabinet and look up inside the bottom of the printer. you will see a t shaped assembly with 2 large rubber tires (rollers). pull the assembly down (spring loaded) and peel the tires off the plastic mounting rollers. turn the tires inside out and replace them.
